NJ Hunter / New Jersey Deer, Bear & Turkey Hunting / Deer Action / Deer Zone 13 / Opening Day Carnage, 5 Whitetails Down (Pics)

I went out today and braved the inclement weather with one of my very good hunting buddies Ray. Although neither of us shot a Buck, we were able to take 5 Does with our extended tags. I shot 2 and Ray shot the other 3, including one Doe that had to be 100lbs dressed out. We both only saw spike bucks throughout the day. All of the Does except one were shot during the morning sit. He shot the other tonight at 4:10 PM. I had sat in my spot this morning and saw 7 Does coming in. I waited a while to see if a buck was trailing, but it didn't happen. The one picture is funny as Ray drew the rest of the Deer's body on the tailgate. All in all we had a fun day that included lunch on him and we shot some deer. Plus, we didn't fall out of a tree!

I hope that some anti's were driving behind you and you guys ruined their day !!

Congrats, and I commend you on NOT shooting the spikes. Seems like alot of people shoot ANYTHING during 6-day.

Again, congrats !!!!

Scrubby and Pablo joined me on a private piece of property in zone 8 today.  We didn't have any racks pass by us but we need manage to restock the freezer.

Congrats on the great deer management day.

I wish the guy who shot and wounded a 5 inch spike by me this morning would take a lesson from you guys by shooting does and mature bucks!

Keep shooting all these does and a few years from now you'll be crying there aren't any deer left

Again, that one photo with the finger drawn deer is funny.

Never knew Ray was so creative and artsy fartsy.  LOL
