That's what I started out looking for and still keeping my eye out for a Honda XL 650 or a Kawa 2008 Kawasaki KX250H7F.
When I saw the TW200, I really liked it's features, and it's street legal.

Check out the seat height and specs. its not a very big bike and not much power. Its nimble to through around the woods but on the road you will get run over.

I was looking at them also but I ended up getting a DR.

Next one I get will be a KLR, or at least thats what I want.

Yep, I think it max's around 55, but I'm mostly using it to scout and patrol my neighbor's property, which has horse trails, and maybe run to the coffee shop.
I really like the Kawasaki KX250H7F, which is rare, right now, but it might lure me onto the interstates.

Thats Kawi is what the guys were using to sneak on our Cyanamid piece last year. Good thing they parked in a dumb area or we never would have caught them.

I live in the pines, the fat tires would be good in the sugar sand, as for the power it's fine for me have not riden a bike since I was in my teens i'm now 35, be great for scootin around wharton state forest, and getting to work which is all back roads whith little traffic as for going on the main roads to many blue hairs, one foot on the gas and the other in the grave.

I'm sure you know to check ebay for bikes ..... I see XR650's sometimes.

As a matter of fact, there is a 1993 XR650 in Bayonne right now on ebay. The auction is almost over, the price is up to $1400

With normal maintenance, these XR's are pretty much bullet proof. I bought a 1990-something XR450 from ebay cheap and I continue to beat the hell out of it (or it beats the hell out of me)

Good luck,

The xr650's are just monster bikes I'm 6'1" 215# and that bike was just as scary as hell in the woods gobs of power and to much bike to maneuver. Unfortunately the 650's are the only bike Honda puts out that is street legal unless you go back to the older models XL, XR.

The Kawi. 250 is the way to go if you don't need a big bike. On on-demand in the sports section look for dirtbike tv they did a build up on the 250 and it turned out to be a damn sweet bike. They were running them in Allegheny natl. forest.

Also, one of the parts' guys at Mattos Cycle, out past Cabelas a bit, is selling his 1994 Suzuki DR 350S. I know he still has it...don't know how much.

I pm'd you his number if you are interested.

good luck getting a bike.

rt 15 honda dealer in Jefferson had a CR 450 that they made into a street  legal super moto bike for sale awhile back. That thing was awesome. Wish honda would factory produce it. Perfect machine for road and dirt.

no problem sorry for the # mixup on the last 2 digits. my bro texted me the right #, but I just typed it worng I like hanover powersports because they offer some good financing deals on most of the yamaha bikes & atv's (0 down, 0% interest for a year). You should also be able to negotiate a little with their salesman, especially if your buying a 2007 model instead of a 2008 one. good luck, dual sports are cool

Be careful buying a bike over in Pa. they might be perfectly legal over there. But when you bring them over to NJ they have a list of bike that may have been street legal before in NJ but are not anymore. If that DR is not a DR350 "S" you wont be able to tag it in NJ. I dont care if the guy has had it tagged in Pa. for 20 years NJ, being the "green" state we are turning into will not do it.

I learned this the hard way. I bought a KDX220 off of a guy in MD. which he had tagged. The orignal title was from NJ, where he bought it from. I thought cool I wont have a bit of problem, went to DMV and they said no more KDX's are street legal they are on the list.

That goes for Pa. reconstucted titles, they can set up a bike with a Baja Design kit and it will pass in Pa. But NJ will not recognize it as a legal bike.

Just a heads up. Take it or leave it.

Thanks, for all the info guys, I truly appreciate it. I'm kinda fixed on new, stock bike, with warranty.
I got a price for the TW200 for Hanover for like $4025.00 out the door. It's a 2007. While it seems like a kewl bike, for another $1500.00, I can get a 08 Honda 650, so I gotta side with it right now.
A friend is checking on an older Honda 650, from a buddy of his(low miles). We'll see?
I believe the Kawa 450 is a legal street machine and I would really like to see one in the flesh, but all 08's are rare, right now.
Keep up the good work, I really appreciate it.

I bought a 1992 klr 250 in march but havent had the time to rebuild the carb. It does run but only with ether since it sat for 2 years by the previous owner. I plan to work on it this winter when work slows down and hopefully start riding it in the spring. I think a dual sport is a great concept for a hunter, street legal and a go anywhere bike Anybody know any good Kawi shops in central or north jersey. The stuff is so dam expensive at those places.

Not yet, the only dealer I've gone to, is Freehold, Millstone, and I called Hanover.
In the seventies, Monmouth was pretty decent, hope the same owner, still has it. It's gotten huge, by the looks of their web page.
I have cash in hand, just gotta find the right bike and deal.

gary if i were you i'ld waite till FEB the deals change as the season approaches, don't plan on saving anything on ur deal if you buy past march.  Feb march are the months you'll save the most. they are the slowest months for dealers.

Thanks, Wolfey, I'm hoping with the present economy, I'll come up with something sooner. I'd like to get something "right now", but I won't pay suggested retail or put up with inflated documentation fees.
Maybe after Xmas, something will happen.

It's like $3800, I got a price from Hanover $4025 out the door, after tax and doc fees, but that's for an 2007.
The Kawa 250 is $4900 retail, before tax and doc, and I'm sort of favoring it right now, but hard to find in an 2008.
