Is that public or private land? You have a good mangement program going if it is private.

its private surrounded by state forest.  i wouldnt call  it good management only a few does and 1 buck killed (mine) on the property. not as many deer hunters as there used to be and we dont drive its all pot hunting. i wonder how many get poached because the big bucks are not showing up this year. they are either, camera shy in hiding or they got bumped off.  we used to do a chain saw masacre and posted sign the poacher stands we find every year but now that accessible land is  state forest.   the a-hole neighbor whos getting a knock on his door by F&G i know he  shot this  10 pointer a few years back but cant prove he was a boarder jumper.  http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f276/PDP313/Dec30_002.jpg

this year is different we have more troops in the woods so the harvest should go up. i wish i was able to get that big 6 pt out of the mix.  there a a few dinks fugly bucks to be managed. we dont shoot many does because the clubs really thin them out anyway.

You got some nice bucks there!!

I have the same problem with my Uncles horse farm in 19. Guys drive it to the twp land (which is gray area if it is legal to hunt it). We even have guys on trail camera, but we never can seem to catch them on the property. Every nice buck we had on cam this year has disappeared, never to be caught on film or scene while hunting.
Best of luck with your season and keep at it maybe you can get things turned around and keep those bucks alive until you get a crack at them.

after talking to other hunters and members of the club we are speculating that either the big bucks were poached at night or died from blue tongue.

it sucks because i was following 3 bucks for three years in a row and especially this nice wide 8 pt. he would be a 4 yr old this year. there are other bucks that are survivors but they dont have the genes to develop into anything nice and its hard to waste tags on them. the dinks will walk or get taken by somebody else. it is a wierd piece of property to even consider managing the herd nonetheless. until it is discussed  at club meetings to weed out the genetically deficient we let natural selection takes its course ( i have seen does in heat chase off inbreded albino bucks not allowing them to breed)

wish i would carry my video camera more often that stuff is priceless.

WestjerseyBogsMan, Nice pictures what zone? also what cam did the first two pictures come from? homebrew?

i am in zone 19 medford atco border near atco raceway. private lease club west jeresy bogs. state licensed commercial land preservation to boot. these deer for whatever reason are the least predictable of any place i hunted, so it's the challenge what brings me back year after year. forget about permits you really have to "earn a buck" here. the bucks 2+ yr olds mostly average in the 100-120 to 140-150lbs maxed dressed and antler score average 90-110 to 120-140 max gross. I am firm believer that there are native 150 class roaming these pines. friend of mine told me his neighboring property in pemberton produced a 14pt 160 class recently. still waiting on pictures for proof.

the close up pics are stealth cam 35 mm which is getting old might replace it soon they are dirt cheap now. the others are 2.0 megapixel 50 ft flash stealth cam.

just checked the film and the decent guessing 3 yr old 8 pt is showing up during day light hours still (fingers crossed).  come Monday its on. due to the nocturnal instincts of these animals we are still working on more successful ways to supplemental feeding on the property. obviously the colder the better but this year its unseasonably warm and dry so there is still an abundance of unspoiled acorns and wild blueberry which the pine deer love to browse on. nonetheless, food plots, mineral plots and planting  white oaks have been discussed.
