No! So says the Swiss Institute for the Prevention of Alcohol and Drug Problems. If the legendary St Bernard finds you stranded in the icy Alps, you would be better off hugging the hound than downing the hooch of the pooch.
Alcohol only gives a false sense of warmth, but the dog could pass along some lifesaving body heat. Even a little nip from the brandy keg will send your blood to the surface of your skin. You may feel warmer, but your blood will actually be cooled.

Many heat sensing nerves are located near the surface of the skin. Drinking can make you temporarily feel warmer. In fact, while you get the feeling of warmth from alcohol, it is really unsuitable because it allows the cold to enter the body.

Sure tastes good, but it's not something I would recommend, especially while hunting.

Sock liner, then a good wool sock.Sorel pac boots. If you don't want to wear the heavy boots, just a good regular insulated leather boot but wear the boot blankets or Artic Sheilds over them.Drop a handwarmer inside the blankets if it's really cold.We hunt Canada on all day hunts and it works for us.

make sure your boot are not constricting your feet
  That is so important.

I once read an article on wearing a plastic bag around your feet...it was YEARS ago, I tried it and almost ended up with frost bite.

First make sure you have a good pair of boots that are slightly over sized.  You don't want to be walking out of them but you want enough room that you have a pocket of air around you foot (especially the toes).  Next make sure you do not wear cotton socks.  Cotton traps the moisture when you sweat and keeps it against your skin.  You need to wear a poly type wicking sock then wool, or just wear a wicking cold weather sock like smart wool or a poly/wool blend.  I usually just wear a wool blend sock in boots a half size too big.  Another thing I've heard works but I havent tried myself is wearing a pair of nylon stockings under your socks.  The openings in the stocking trap a layer of air and the nylon won't hold moisture from sweat.  Just can't bring myself to go shopping for nylon stockings LOL.

I know it's a little late but next time, wash your feet, dry them good and use anti-per-spirant deodorant(odorless of course) and wear thin socks to go to your stand, then switch to a thicker pair after you've been settled down. Just try it, it might do the trick for you.

ICEBREAKER® BOOT BLANKET® INSULATED OVERBOOTS

I wear a pair of Rocky 1,000 gram thinsulate boots and a thin everyday cotton sweat sock, if you don't sweat walking in you should be good for the sit also, if a light boot and light sock are not enough, use the Icebreakers boot blankets like someone else said but don't over do it with a heavy sock, and the boots must be loose fitting also, good luck

my routine and my feet astay warm sun up to sun down...only took me 12 years of hutning to get it down.

1) spray your feet with unscented aerosol deoderant
2) poly pro/wicking sock
3) heavy wool sock
4) good quality boots an extra size or two bigger then your normal
5) on them super cold days i throw them bootys on i have the ice breakers.
6) and something that has been stuck in myhead for years

if your feet are cold put a hat on if your feet are still cold put another hat on

Keep your head warm and give your body pkenty of room for proper circulation.

We spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on weapons, hunts, bait, etc etc why skimp on the stuff that allows you to stay on stand longer.  Invest in some good boots (i use muck boots woody max) good socks, top notch materials, and some ol tricks thrown in and you shouldn't have any problems!!

I am still wearing uninsulated boots this late in the year.......just about 1.5 sizes too big. Plenty of room in them which allows a pocket of warm air to form. One pair of thin wicking socks, one pair of thicker wool socks and they stay warm for most cold sits.

My hands are another story. Last year they cost me a deer during winter bow. They were so cold and numb, I could not feel anything. Fading light, deer at 5 yards, I couldnt feel my sight light to turn it on. Couldnt feel my release aid...Couldnt even tell if I was holding the bow for sure. I just sat and watched. I wasn't wearing gloves though...so that could be part of the problem!

Dont underestimate the warmth of your core either. A down vest or something to keep your torso warm goes a long way for keeping your extremities warm. Remember the body will "sacrifice" the extremities to keep the core warm. A hat and vest can actually extend the amount of time before your hands and feet get cold.

I havent stepped out yet, but it sounds cold and windy today! Stay warm!

I seen a couple of days ago someone stating they spray their feet with scent free deodorant before putting on their socks and boots.

Well, I now see it made it here already.

This is the best advice yet.  Keep your head and neck warm and you will be amazed at how it affects the hands and feet.
