Does anyone here know the symtoms of CWD, Chronic Wasting Disease? I shot a doe yesterday that does'nt
look right. She is the same length as a 1 1/2 yr old, but I can carry her with one hand. She is skin and bones. My hand almost completely wraps around her neck, and I can feel every vertabrae. Her coat is very thin, like only half the hair grew. She looks fuzzy not sleek like a normal deer. I'm afraid to do anything as far a butchering this deer. I'm going to take a closer look in the daylight today after I get home from work. Thanks.  __________________ Largest Buck 130 gross. 1995 NJ Outstanding Deer entry.

Some symptoms are wobbly legs, no fear of man, excessive drooling and thirst. The dramatic weight loss and death are the end stages. That sounds like enough symtoms to have it checked out by a biologist. E-mail the F&G at njfishandwildlife@dep.state.nj.us
I don't think they publish that address on the F&G site anymore, but it still works. You will reach some guy named Paul Tarlow. He won't answer any questions, but he will put you in contact with someone who can help. __________________ Gun control is being able to hit your target

This deer came with two fawns and another adult doe. She is bigger/longer than a young of the year fawn and b.buck. She is about the same length as a 1 1/2 yr old as I said. Thanks Hollow point I'll try the link. __________________ Largest Buck 130 gross. 1995 NJ Outstanding Deer entry.
