How is everyone's season going?  So far I've got 2 does in the freezer. One from fall bow and one from permit season. I should of had a 6 pointer but when I drew back my arrow jumped and got jammed between my rest and riser.  Oh well.  I haven't seen many bucks moving lately, but have seen alot of scrapes out there not many rubs though. How bout everyone else?

Pretty good after a slow start

For me so far 2 does & 2 bucks

My buddy also took 1 doe and 2 bucks from my same hunting area, so things picked up towards the end of October for us

0 in the freezer, but I'm still having a good year in my book. I have seen more action and bigger bucks this year than ever before. Just to be out in the woods makes my season. Hopefully I'll pull one into the freezer during muzzy

I took 2 does so far, both are going to the PBA dinner (Never enetered them into the contest). I've let countless does and smaller bucks walk so far this year.  I'm doing very well at holding off this year for something bigger and have no problem finishing the season without a buck if that's how it plays out. I will take another doe for myself as well before it's all said and done.

OK so far 2 Does, 1 BB, 1 8 point all bow.
Have let 18 individual bucks walk some of them multiple times.
Thought REAL hard about shooting a BIG doe this morning wondering if she would go much past 125 (We will find out a little closer to Thanksgiving if she makes the same mistake a third time with me.
Not seeing the big guys where I have been expecting to see them or their rubs so I know I' doing something wrong but all in all a fun year so far and VERY GLAD it is not 80 out any more!

2 does. Missed a big buck in Illinois and hit a 4" tree shooting at a large 6PT on 11/16. Ive let over a dozen small bucks go by this year. Hopefully I'll nail a nice Buck soon!

Can't complain.  Freezer is quite full of doe meat, and I have been passing on lots and lots and lots of small bucks.  Doesn't look like I'll be getting a big boy this year with the bow.  Prime time seems to be winding down quickly if its not completely over, and I'm not shooting a dinker just to fill a tag.

Crappy- 1 doe, 1 lost buck, breeze betrayed me on a Pope buck, and I can't go. Between work and family I can't go. I'm so friggin' depressed: sitting home during the rut is killing me. I was going to go tonight, but wifey got a dinner invite. I'll go Monday. Oh yeah, waiting for the big guy, I passed up 3 smaller bucks. a 5pt, a 6pt and a small 8pt. I suppose I should've nailed them.

Been an ok year, but I am cursed when it comes to big mature bucks.

7 does, 1 in my freezer and 6 to hungry families and people in need. Zero bucks.

I've passed quite a few bucks though this year. The only one I kind of regret was a really nice 6 pointer that was definitely an older deer. I had him at about 6 yards under the tree, quartering away during early bow. Being early in the season, I wanted to wait on a bigger buck.

I also mis-judged the yardage on a 100 class 9 pointer in the last week of regular bow and I missed a 130 class 8 pointer twice yesterday when I hit branches both times.

So I'm eating venison, but I'd sure like to use my buck tag for a change. I've passed so many bucks over the years, it gets discouraging when you finally get those opportunities at big mature deer and they dont come together the way you have practiced them.

Matty...I just picked up a book by Cameron Hanes...pretty good read so far & has a whole section devoted to discouragement.

Oh I dont need any pointers, I have being discouraged down pat!

I was gonna get that book, how is it? Does it relate to regular bowhunting or is it mostly about planning deep woods excursions out of state?

8 does so far. Passed on so many scrub bucks. I am not shooting any more 1 1/2 old bucks anymore. If it's not close to P&Y he gets a pass. I might not get to many bucks anymore but that's where I'm at in bowhunting. Trying to take it to another level.

It's been a good first year of bow hunting so far. I got my first deer with a bow a BB and proud of him. I've seen tons of deer and had at least 3 other chances that I blew at taking a deer (moving to much on stand or busted drawing the bow). Part of learning I guess. Only saw 2 spike bucks though. It would be nice to see some bigger bucks. I'll have to do some better scouting next year. Having a good time!

Same here.  I just wish more hunters would have this approach.

I would rather eat tag/buck stub soup.  I passed some 15 different bucks this year waiting for the shooter that didn't come my way.

I got a doe and my first buck during fall bow

Freezer still void of venison Just haven't found the time to hunt enough. Freezer is filled with pheasant though... guess I'm able to make time for pheasant hunting

Not too well. I've got 1 doe in the freezer and have let countless does walk waiting for a buck. I'm just not seeing them. Only saw 1 decent one and it was too far for a shot. One less doe is going to walk, I will be taking another one for the freezer soon.

Been a real tuff season so far moved down to the pines and am not use to hunting this country and am not to familiar with the deer movements down here (I swear its different then from up north!!!).

But anyhoot shot a nice lil buck with my recurve and put my brother on his first bow kill this year as well.  Passed on some bucks but I'm sure there will be more meat for the freezer soon!

In the end, it's the "HUNTER" that gets the deer not the BOW !

Did real well despite the lack of time to hunt. Took a bunch of deer, a couple geese, a few ducks, to many crows to count, and I just shot my first deer with a recurve Sat.!
