Anyone else been hearing a lot of howling going on in zone 45? I was out this afternoon and heard what sounded like 10-15 different yotes out there. Saw 3 of them. They were coming into my doe bleat, but never got within 40 yards...

After it got dark and I came down the tree with the climber, they didn't move off too far. They didn't really seem to be too fazed by my voice either.

Made for an interesting walk out in the dark.

Just wait....One night you will be bent over...gutting a deer in the dark and they will start howling right behind you !!!
Been There, Done That......The following week-end I hung some snares and got me a couple of those howlers....FELT GOOD !!!!!

I've had them run to greet me in the dark in the AM.
shoot a deer or drag a dead one back and set up 25 yards away and they will come especially in January-refer to legal season date s. You have 2-3 days to drop em before they eat the whole deer. Good luck

Oh yeah, that sounds like it'd be a real good time. Although I'd have to actually see a deer back there this season to make that possible... Gee, wonder what happened to the deer population in that area...

I've had that happen in zone 34. Kinda creepy but neat at the same time

Last year I just got down my tree after shooting my deer and they started barking and howling.Great sense of smell!

One night they had a kill very near me it was an awfull sound in the dark. I was reluctant to get out of the tree but I lowered my bow and climbed down with my knife ready in case I had to get it on with one.

Was spooky.

I hear them every night out in 45 and 46. The yote population has increased in the past few years...

We had 12 come in to be mounted last season, so I know there all over the place.
