Best thing to do is weld a heavy duty steel cage around the camera with a steel security bar or kryptonite cable to secure it- It costs about $20.00 in materials, and if you draw it up and take the drawing to your local votech highschool, they'll weld it together for $20.00.

$40.00 for some security isn't bad. It's not theft proof. Anyone with a hacksaw and a couple of hours will still be able to take it, but odds are they'll give up as its just to much hassel.

I had two done a sussex vo-tech.

NYHUNTER-sorry to see your cam gone.I just put my 1st one out 2 days ago,and locked it with chain, and camo'd it the best i could.I hope that works. Its ashamed that a hunter would steal from ANYONE,LET ALONE A FELLOW HUNTER! Shame on them.I suggest, putting a cheap cam in same spot, and another hidden one focused on that spot,so if they come back and try to get the cheap one,you can get pics of them in the act.You may be able to identify them,or report them,or if you are the "EYE FOR AN EYE" type, maybe you could trade them a couple slashed tires..I am not condoning that of course...

I tried that.... Made a box out of a fuse panel with two padlocks that had two lagbolts through the back of the box into the tree.  There was NO WAY TO STEAL THE CAMERA!!!!   Unfortunaltely some jack off just busted the SH** out of it with an old 4x4 they found lying around and left it there.  I went in to check the camera and found it all smashed up still half on the tree(but the memory card was beaten out of it).  Some people are just Aholes

I use two cams, one is focused on the bait pile, one is hidden near by focused on the camera, if they dont get both, I get them.

Gobblergetter, the camera is a sony P41, the case is a pelican 1020, and the board I used for this one is a Snapshot Sniper.  works great, fast trigger speed, and really good picture quality.
