shot a buck this afternoon at 20 feet up almost directly under me i waited for an hour and got down no blood no arrow nothing in going back to look tommorow good lord willin il getem __________________ RED-WING-PRO-STAFFER

If you don't find blood it doesn’t mean it wasn't a good hit, more then likely because he was under you It sounds like you hit him high, take your time and don't get discouraged you'll find him, look for tracks and disturbed leaves as clues to where he ran, look high on branches and leaves for blood also not just the ground, most times they will run back the way they came and saty on trails and straight lines as much as you can, more then likely you find your first good signs of blood within the first 20 to 30 yards if not the deer itself by 50 or 75 yards, good luck and if you need a hand I'm sure there are a few guys on here that live close to where your hunting and can help search.  __________________ Pete's Archery Service & NJH.com ProStaff ProFile

Good luck! Man it is a awefull feeling. Hope you find him. I'm still haunted by a nice buck I didn't get in NY last year. Gets some friends to help if you can. Make sure you grid the hell out of the area. That is a tough shot as even if you get a pass through organs can clog up the exit hole. The entrance is high and as long as he is upright he won't bleed out of it.
All good tips so far but the best is next time wait til he passes and take a better angle on him. Best of luck!!! |

Sounds like he took the arrow and no exit hole. My friend did this a few years ago and found no blood. The high hit with no exit hole just caused all of the blood to pool in the chest cavity.
