I shot my best buck so far Friday evening and recovered it yesterday morning 70 Yards from where I hit it.

It had a basic 8 point frame with 4 kickers. One on each of its G-2s about 2 inches long each and then one on each of the G-3's about an inch long.

I had it infront of me between 25-30 yards browsing and eating acorns for about 40 minutes before it gave me a shot. It showed up about 5 minutes to 6 and finally got a shot at 6:30 and missed at 25 yards.  All I can say is thank god for how quiet my Bowtech Allegiance was because it ran off about 20 yards and then came back to 35 yards and gave me a second shot and this one connected but I thought I missed.

When I went to look for my arrow found no blood for the first shot and then found blood a few feet from where it stood the second time. I then heard a deer run off. I decided to come back in the morning and found 4 beds within 20 yards of where I had last seen it and then found it 15 feet from where I found the last blood.

I would post a picture but don't know how?

Thanks,

Rick Going

The scary part is my brother has found sheds that honestly dwarf this buck within 100 yards from where this was shot.

His best buck was shot within 20 yards of the tree I was in and my best buck prior to this was 50 yards away.

Hope he's at the taxidermist....   What zone?
Posted:  14 Oct 2007 2:09 PM
Zone 51 shot in farmingdale.

I normally butcher them myself...I decided to have it done professionally and have it at Killers Kitchen and then bringing it to Karl at All Game

Nice job.. If you plan on entering Him in to P and Y I'm a measurer and I'm in Middletown close to Killers kitchen.

Sugar,

I would love it...Any idea roughly what he would score...Until I saw him close I thought he was about 110...first time in my life I've had ground growage!

Its tough to tell from the angle.  He's a mature heavy horned buck..
Posted:  14 Oct 2007 6:04 PM
A friend of mine took pictures of this for a better angle on all of the points and he also shot his biggest yesterday morning I will post them when he emails them to me.

I just need to learn how to post them?

what you should do is create a free account with photobucket.com and upload the pictures to photobucket.  Once they are uploaded you can copy and paste the IMG Code(found underneath your picture in photobucket) to your post.  very simple
