| what are the rules for hunting these spots like are u able to bait if u can bait can u leave the bait over night. are there any spots that are better for bow hunting out of a tree. like being more open and how many ppl hunt there and would u want to meet up to go there and hunt remeber i use to live in pa where baitning is not allowed | ||

| You can bait in bear swamp. I believe you can bait anywhere in NJ. I would show you around there but I moved out of Sussex 5 years ago. There are deer there I’ve seen em. I haven’t seen any big bucks but I’m sure there around because of all the woods and farms near by. Give it a shot but if you bait use some sweet horse feed because you cant see it from a distance and other public hunters wont see it and hunt over it. Good Luck post a pic of what you shoot. | ||

They don't call it bear swamp for nothing! There are a ton of bears in there and baiting will only bring them insted of deer!! __________________ Hunt with a Vizsla, Cause life's to short to hunt with an ugly dog!

GhostBear is right about being careful when baiting in bear country. One time I walked up to a bear while heading toward my tree stand. He was at my corn-bait pile.
It was pitch dark and luckily I just spotted some movement. |

There is a Bear Swamp in Zone 3 also. It is part of the Ringwood State Park system but this is posted in the section "zone 19" __________________ I’m a Republican because everyone can’t be on welfare.

Posted: 28 Oct 2007 9:05 AM actually NJ land trust owns over 800acres in parts of bear swamp that runs adjacent to hawkins down to skeet that is not private and public hunting is allowed with permission slip only with limited parking why dont you think about that before you make an ignorant and stupid post |
