i wasnt going to go because it was extremly hot,but i already called my brother and he was on his way over.i got to the area i was hunting and all set up about 4:15,and was sweating like crazy. i switched shirts and began to sit. acorns dropping all over i even got hit with about 4 of them. @ about 5:50 i heard a twig snap and saw a little doe come in from behind me and i was still sitting down.i stayed sitting knowing i wasnt going to shoot just to small.well mommy came out and they were about 8 yards they kept looking up at me knowing something wasnt right.after about 15 minutes i was able to get up while mommy was behind a big tree eating.she came out looked at me again and turned around. she went behind a tree thats when i puled back. she steped out and i let her rip,looked like a great shot i watched as they took off and seen her fall about 50 to 60 yards along the field.about a 80 to 85 pound doe. was a perfect shot double lung. i want to thank my brother (hunter4life) for being there with me and helping me out with her. also i want to thank my cousin ( dubs ) with letting me use his area tonight. its great to beable to hunt with family and thats what made this hunt special to me. first of the season and 5 more points for team 21 stop'um and drop'um.

Nice Job
Practice shooting sitting down. So next time you will not have wait to stand up to take the shot. I practice standing and sitting. I also practice from the top of my shed to get at least the feel of being elevated. I learned in the Coast Guard and Fire Fighting service you must train as close to the real scenario as possible. So when the time to react is upon you your reaction is natural. |
