The Girls should be good and toasty when I put the covers in the doors and close the side sliders when it's cold out.

Chained, locked, rollup locked up to the back and the tailgate locked when the dogs are out.

Much more than that I can't do.

Yup. I plan on making dinner as long as I can get out of work on time.

Going out to Pa to shoot some birds in the next 2 weeks as long as it cools a bit.  At least in the early AM anyway.

They had a bottom drawer if I wanted that too but figured I didn't need it.  I thought I have enough room in the truck but now I'm thinking it would have been nice.  Oh well, next box.

Hey TJC and Catfish,

Looking into getting one of these sharp boxes myself... Wondering where you got them from??

THose are really nice boxes, I like the storage. You can never have enough storage for stuff. Good Luck with them!

Here are some options for you .  Mine is the Deer Creek box.  People were great to deal with.  Fast service, shipped freight to the front door (or in some cases to a central area near you), and reasonable in price.
I added the alum. covered inside to help prevent scratching and chewing of the wood.  Not sure it is really needed now.
I would consider the storage drawer underneath the box.  Also ask for additional windows in the back.

Additional info.

Mine is the Uplander Flattop w/no storage.  Large size which I think is 46" wide.
My Drahthaars are approx. 55 and 65lbs. and fit with no problems.
My box will fit in a smaller truck such as a Ford Ranger but will sit higher as it will ride on the wheel well humps.  FYI

Forgot I had that one too.  I looked at all of them.

Pretty much all the same features.  Some charge for little extras that come with others, some ship certain ways although most ship overland freight.  Almost all are roughly the same size.
Comes down to speaking with the people and getting a feel about them and price, at least for me anyway.

This box was the best thing going last year.  I put it in the truck in Oct and it stayed there until I stopped bird hunting in March.
Just wish I had gotten the under storage drawer.
And if I mount it all the way to the rear of the bed, I can still throw 4-5 deer in the bed during deer season.

I mount mine on the back and it has room on the side so I can slide every thing on the side of the box.the top storage is great for emergancy dog stuff, I leave foo ammo and all bunny hunting gear in it

I feel the same way Ghost, I can't even think of bringing myself to putting my dog in a box. Its probably better for her though and safer if I did. I guess when I get another dog I would have to get one. I have been thinking about it though pretty hard lately.

When I had my Expedition I had the dogs inside cages right up against the seats.  But now it's the F150 and the box OR, the VW convertable Bug.
So they ride in the back in the box.  Helps to keep the truck a bit cleaner inside and keeps the gear and cloths in better condition too.

There is room along the box or in the back of the bed if I don't push it all the way to the rear.  But a lot of the gear I would put in the storage drawer if I had it, I wouldn't leave in the bed anyway.

we had boxs w/o storage in the past and the truck is always a mess from the gear ,it is nice to just pop the top and throw you shells, shock collars and other dog gear in it and know it wont be lost ,plus it is under lock and key so it is safe

I agree.  Especially since I run the two of them for it's everything X 2.  Then throw in that I usually use a couple of different guns during the season which means at least 2 different guages.  I do wish I had gone with a storage drawer.
If I could sell this box I'd order another with the drawer.  But for now it works.
