Well, I came off of my night shift at 0600 this morning, decided to walk into the 8 acres of property that I just bought here in zone 34. I have a small plot in there and a feeder. On my way in, I noticed something on the path, turns out it was a coyote. I knocked an arrow when he jumped into the woods. I took my predator call out of my bag and used the squeaker a few times. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed movement. There he was about 15 yards away behind some scrubby oak brush that was growing on the high line. I drew back hoping that it would step into the clearing but after what seemed like an eternity, I realized that he wasnt going to come any further. So I decided to try to shoot him through the brush. Well, didnt work too well. I heard the arrow hit the brush and watched him take off. He then stopped in the woods, so I knocked another arrow, and waited for him to step back onto the path. When he did, I estimated that he was about 40 yards, so I put the pin on him and let it fly. Arrow went over his back and he took off into the woods. Wish it would have ended a little better, but it was exciting anyway. I was just happy to see the yote, and then a few deer when I went in. Like I said I just bought the property and wanted to see if the deer were moving through there in the morning hours. Luckily I found both arrows, and the first one had a little hair on it, so I must have skimmed him. Not a very ethical shot, but i figured it was just a coyote!!! __________________ RACK-A-HOLIC

| I had one come out into an opening last week. I heard it running and thought it was a deer so I drew back and it steps out and stopped. If it was one week later, I would've had my first yote! | ||

I don't care what they are. That's straight scum-bag I'm sorry. You make every other hunter look like a jerkoff. It doesn't matter if its a squirrel, a deer, or a coyote. You don't do that. Its not called fox/coyote- mame/wound/kill/run over with your car/do whatever possible to kill season. It doesn't say anywhere in the hunting compendium to do whatever you can to eradicate the species from the face of the earth. Its called hunting. Learn some ethics. If you wanna shoot "at" something buy a paper target and go to a target range.
