Here are questions that I know everyone has an opinion about (like aholes everyone got one)
Last year I was under a tight budget trying to get started into Bow Hunting.  I purchased a Browning Rage One to get going. I have gotten two kills and one unconfirmed with it. I  am shooting well with it and it has  taken some work and alot of misses.  Now that I have done some more research, shot some other bows and  can afford to splurge a little. I can definitely tell the difference.  It is almost like riding a 500cc cycle vs a 1100cc motorcycle. You still get there but man the ride is a lot different.

I like to find a bow that has a shorter axle to axle length, faster, and higher let off and is around $800.00.

Has anyone shot the Browning Mirage or the Diamond Black Ice?

(Going over to B&A archery today just to check what they have. Dealer of Diamond by Bowtech.)

I have the Black Ice and love it, extreemly fast, Incredibly smooth on the draw and great let off as well as dead nuts on paper and thru game, an all around GREAT BOW Talk with Kris or Matty if your thinking about going with a Black Ice, also Darton bows, Ross bows, bowtech, and Mathews are great bows to look into. GOOD LUCK

Here is my first kill with my new Black Ice

Thanks Drop Tine.

The friend who got me into bow hunting has the Alligence by Bowtech.  His bow is definitely fast and he is impressed with it.  He has been bow hunting for about 30 years.

I tried the Matthews. I was impressed but I am  so tired of seeing their commercials and hearing everyone sales pitch I got turned off.  I feel like I would be caving into the commercial pressure and conformity. As if I cannot be a bonifide bow hunter if I did not buy a Matthew. I am not speaking of you, BEST at all.  Just other people who I had discussions with.  Do not get me wrong I was impressed but it is  pricey to me because base price is at $800.  After I would get the accessories I will be over $1,000.  I do appreciate the suggestion.  Thank you

The Mathews is a great bow, bow there are a lot of bows that are just as good side by side and the Black Ice is about 2 or 3 pounds lighter all set up. Here is a video of the Black Ice and the Mathews switchback side by side.

Never heard of Mathews until I bought my Switchback... now I can't go anywhere without seeing a Mathews logo

Drop Tine,

I just got of the phone with a Pro Shop (B&A archery) my friend recommended a year ago.  Place over in Philly. Black Ice with package set up for about $700.00.

I will go check it later this afternoon.  Now I have to get back to work and get something done.

Black Ice is a short axle to axle bow, pretty fast, 80 percent letoff, and has a good brace height...everything you could want...I personaly and going to get the Bowtech General...it's just a sweet bow
