NJ Hunter / New Jersey Hunting / Contests / Team 9 on the board again (pix)

Went out the yesterday with a buddy of mine.  I had a doe come in on me at 7:00 and I shot her at 12 yds... I was shooting from almost on top of her and ended up spining her.  I finished her off quickly with a second shot through the boiler room.  My buddy contacted me around 7:10 telling me he had shot a buck but wasn't sure of the shot.  I told him to back out and come over to where I was.  We field dressed my deer loaded it in the truck and had a cup of coffee.  At 9:00 we headed back to find his deer... his shot was much better than he thought and it only ran 50yds.  It was kinda cool knowing by 7:05 we had both tagged a deer...I shot my second doe for the year and he tagged a 3 pt.    It's the first time we've ever tagged deer together so we were pumped.

I'm not sure where to post my pics for the contest but here is me with the doe.

Here's a pic of both together.

Another team member scores.

I was in zone 9 yesterday and never saw a deer.  It happens every Fall when the acorns start to drop.  They'll be back.

Nice aftermath.  Go to the contest room and there is a sticky thread, "Contest entry thread", on which you post a pic of you with the deer and of the tag in the deer.  Your first pic seems to do it all.  If I remember right you are a teacher.  So am I.  Team #9 has three guys up now.

Congrats on the score. Good to see another team member get one down. I'll be going out tomorrow night after a big 10 I saw at last light last night! He was running around with another nice 8. I set my climber up in the wrong tree If I would have gotten into the tree I originally picked, he would have been at about 10 yards

Aren't you able to set up somewhere near the Oaks where the acorns are? You'd be in a solid spot there! Congrats on the Deer Aftermath!

No oaks where I am.  Its a small piece up against a very large Morris County Park.  They'll be back.

Good luck bowtech... I'm doing the same thing.  I shot a doe opening day but forget to take pics to post up so couldn't enter them in the contest.  I've been passing up shot after shot (including one at 12 yds at the 3 pt in the pics above) waiting on a nice 9 or 10 pt I saw a few times over the summer.  This full moon and this warm weather have been killers for the last week... they all seem to be moving at night.

I can't do it from work (where I am now).  But I'll do it later.
