NJ Hunter / New Jersey Deer, Bear & Turkey Hunting / Deer Action / Deer Zone 4 / Opening Day......This Saturday !!!!
Posted:  25 Sep 2007 9:15 AM
Well finally opening day is near for me!!!!! Be heading up to the house Friday afternoon from work, hunterpanz1100, and 230grain will be coming up later that evening.

Sal, my friend Sean will be coming up in the morning, so if you see a flashlight from the general location that we came in it will be him, he knows where he is going. For you, I have the general location where to put you. It will be a nice day to hunt, around 70, 10mph wind from the NW, but the wind will change numerous times up there.

Steve are you coming down on Friday the 12th, or on Saturday the 13th?
Posted:  25 Sep 2007 7:44 PM
Steve, Did you ever get my response to your email?

I'm looking forward to showing you a spot down here where you should get a chance at a deer at least.

I will also hunt up North there in Zone 1 with you if you want.

As it gets closer, I'll talk to you and we can figure something out.

---Matt

Oh and best of luck to everyone going out for the first time this coming Saturday. Though I think you guys are nuts. Why wait? The temps are no different this Saturday than what they've been most the early season. You guys have some sorta extra willpower? The minute the season opens I become useless till it closes. Then again, some would argue I'm useless when its closed too...

Matty- I did get it haven't had a chance to respond back. Been crazy here with work etc,, trying to get ready for NJ trip. I will be in touch and we will definitely hook up one day. I'd like to travel down and try somewhere besides 4 for a day. Not that 4 is bad I see more in 4 than up here. Actually saw 4 or 5 last week and they were just to far out. Had a doe and fawn at 12 yds dead downwind broadside but the fawn was in front of momma and didn't want to risk hitting the fawn.

Joe- e-mail me your number. Wrote it on the dry erase board in the kitchen but someone erased it. We will be arriving Friday night the 12th and will be hunting Saturday to Saturday and leaving either late Sat the 20th or early Sunday AM the 21st. We will get together fr a hunt and a beer.

Took a 1 dayer a few weeks ago as I work for Merck- Wish they'd let me hunt their Whitehouse Station property!! Headed to see the folks on the way home for a few minutes in Rochelle Park. Saw a few in Saddle River Park. Boy things have changed when I moved out in early 80's all that were in that park were Canadian Geese!!
