| In total, it took about 7 weeks to get my FID. They told me it would take 8 weeks or so initially, so I guess I was lucky to get mine early, especially after some of the horror stories I've read on here. | ||

I'm buying a remington 870 express, probably the turkey camo model, first.
http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model_870/mod ... After that, who knows, but I want something cheap, durable and all-around useful for now, and this seems to fit the bill. |

Good luck with it.
870's are great guns. And the express model is a great value, as it still has the Wingmaster's action. |

Is it pure lazyness or the dislike and bias against private firearm ownership? Did you ask them what other laws or rights this department disreguard? Let me guess, when you called they said "they haven't gotten the paperwork back from the FBI", right? __________________ "To be unarmed and therefore helpless in the face of evil is irresponsible and in fact complicit to said evil. Did you ask him why they sit on it so long? Well he said DO NOT CALL we will call you! So I asked him right there why it takes so long and he said it takes that long for the paper to get back from the FBI. bs! I have the money order # so I'll check to see how long before they deposit the money. |

Other town PD's are able to get it done in 30 days or close. They are using the same FBI than your PD. Call them. Keep calling them. Get names and dates every time you call. __________________ "To be unarmed and therefore helpless in the face of evil is irresponsible and in fact complicit to said evil. My local PD jerked my old man around for months when he was trying to get his replacement. Lucky he found his old one. Too many power hungry PDs trying to twist the laws instead of just enforcing them. Gotta love it when they judge who should or shouldn't be privileged enough to fall in their good grace. Shame. __________________ Tight Lines, Wet Nets, Filled Tags and Full Bags

hopefully the state police and FBI do the same. They are RARELY the problem. Most delays come from local PD's dragging their feet. Why did it take them 2 weeks to get the reference forms out?? __________________ "To be unarmed and therefore helpless in the face of evil is irresponsible and in fact complicit to said evil.
