I got a ridiculous case of the chiggers in Zone 16 last week, probably bad enough to keep me out of the woods for now. Got them last year, but not even close to this year.

Anyone have any tips? I don't seem to good at avoiding them!

i got them right now about as bad as i've ever had them...my legs look like a poison ivy rash...i can't stop itching...i think i'm gonna get some itching cream, but really only time works

Benadryl is working for me and baths with salts. I had to deal with them while on vacation this week in Colorado.. really sucked!

I don't know but they seem fearful this year.  I'm being conservative with 200 bites last weekend.  I'm going with old school british navy treatment.....good dark RUM in vast quantities taken orally will cure anything.  The itching is fearful still at least go until your legs numb.

dawnpatrol... I work the same hours, and planned on hunting every day from about 7-3, but now I think I'm done until 21 opens up. This is just too much. and I have WAY more than 200 bites, probably up near 500, no joke.

See my earlier post this week about them

Guys recommended I spray PERMANONE on my clothes prior to going in to the woods.  I brought at Walmart.

Try not to scratch them.  My partner has I stated in the post has them all over him.

I just now getting over them.

I use Duranon repellant(they make it for dogs too). It has never spooked a deer on me and I haven't been bitten by anything since I've been using it. You spray it all over your clothes and shoes and let it dry. It works great.
