I Hunted goose last September in Assumpink. Was not too bad. I used decoys. Next season will be Nov 12-Nov 26, Dec 16- Jan 21. I personally recommend this location: Intersection of Clarksburg robbinsville & Egglington rds (Next to the Lake).

Jex,
I live in Edison.  Where are you?

Hey DeanZ,
I know exactly where that is.  That's actually the only spot I could think of to go.  I believe there's a few soybean fields in that area.  I would try setting up in one of them.  Thanks!

David

David:
I live in Old Bridge. There is a large tree in the middle of the Clarksburg robbinsville, close to Egglington (next to soybean field). You can park there and set the decoys next the water, there is a very large open field. Stay away from the  soybean fields, they wil be packed with people hunting pheasants starting Nov 12.

Yoda, I'm down in Little Egg Harbor.

Hey DeanZ,
Would you be up for some goose hunting?  Maybe we could hook up since you know the area a little better than I do.

Jex,
Do you have decoys and a spot in mind?

David

1st day you can't hunt until 8:00 stay as small game hunters. Then you'll have small gamers everyday for two weeks. Trust me I been there & done that LOL

Bob,

I believe you totally.  Where do you go?  And land or water?  Do you need a hand shooting them ?

David:
I'll be there for pheasants and chukars during Nov and Dec. For goose I'll go in Jan. The location I mentioned not too bad, even my son with a 20g was able to get a few.

They have chukars there. I'll have to check that out.

Count me in!!!

Let me know where and when we could do this.

I also would mind trying Duck hunting?

I have a small flat bottom and would gladly take anyone with me.

Well, if we can manage to put like 4-5 dozen decoys out, between a bunch of us, then that would make a pretty good setup.

You'd think - I know a guy that duck hunts with one decoy. There is a certain way to lay out you geese decoys. I don't know how but it can't be random.

My cousin shot a pheasant once and could have caught it in his jacket.  He put it in his jacket and felt movement all day.  Figured it was sliding.  Went to take it out and it bit him.  It was still alive.
Then again, not as bad as being knocked out by a goose.
