Lets kick some but guys. Good luck to all! Now, how about a team name. By the way, I'm in Ocean County and I'll be hunting mostly zone 16 this year in Jackson.

Ok, I'm getting kind of worried. I don't think anyone on my team is around anymore? Where the heck is everyone?
Posted:  31 Aug 2007 4:12 PM
I'm always lurking.

I'm leaving for a week and won't make opening day but I'll put my points on the board soon enough.

I'll be mostly in zone 9 with the bow, zone 8 with the shotgun and zone 6 with the muzzy.   I have a few trail pics posted in the "zone 9" section.
Things are looking good .

I'll leave it up to you guys to come up with a team name.

Hey Bowtech....it's late August and alot of guys are on the road, at the beach, and paying their last respects to their wives and kids before they ditch em' for bow season.  No worries...the crew will step up.  I'm here and I am always motivated.  I hunt in a deerless wasteland, in Passaic county, that is peaceful and quiet.  But I try - and now and again - I drop a stick in a buck.  Since there are some stacked and cocky teams here (I say that in jest and all fun) Why don't we name our team "BUCK YOU"?.  That is the in your face approach.  How about the opposite tack....be humble....we could be the "Conservationists".  Dorky...yes...it says that even the girls beat us up in high school of course, but if we lose.... all these private farm super bowhunters would have been expecting it.  We could evoke the memory of one of the greatest conservationins-woodboogers of all time, Teddy Rosevelt and call ourselves the "Rough Riders" which would also carry the intonation of a condom and it's wonderous domain.  I kind of like that one because I do hump way back in the deep woods and sleep on the ground like an animal for two and three day hunts.... passing up dinks and trying to drop a big old Sad Daddy..  I usually only kill time though.....  I think that Markmartinfan has posted some trail cam pics of some bucks so he is a player but the rest of these guys I just don't know.  Whatever you think is cool with me.  I fish some in Ocean county but this year I have a NY hunting license and plan to spend Sundays hunting that state.  Maybe we could meet up for a fall striper thing.  In any case this is good clean fun and I am in for anything.  I hope the rest of the guys check in and tell us something about themselves.  I am a 47 year old high school disciplinarian that fishes and hunts.  I am looking foward to hearing from Markmartinfan, KAH1993 and Aftermath.  best of luck to eveyone on teams 1-24.....safe hunting and good times.  Go Team 9.  Go Rough Riders

Hey Guys,

I hunt Monmouth county only - Zone 50. Primarily with the bow. I've got 3 kids so I get pretty busy, but will nail a doe pretty much 1st / 2nd time out.

I really try to only shoot older bucks, 8 points or better. I pass on 1.5 and most 2.5 year bucks. Ive got picks of some I killed in the trophy pics section, and some I was after last year. I didnt kill a buck last year- but that was my choice, had the oppts, just nothing I wanted to shoot. I just enjoy getting up in the tree and letting the woods wake up around me.

I'm good with just about any name you guys come up with. Buck you works!

Good luck on the 8th to those who are going out.

Hey kah1993....sounds like you can put up some points.....this team keeps sounding better and better.  If you ever need any help down there in 50 let me know....it would be nice to see a deer once in a while.  "Buck you" was suggested by another team first...I found out in retrospect.....so they may be using it....what about the fighten' boys of old TR? (Rough Riders)  That was his crew in a Mexican - American war.  Teddy was Legit!  Did you ever read "Hunting Trips of a Ranch Man" or "The Wilderness Hunter" by old Teddy?  He wrote them before he was President and they are great reads.  It was in those times, on his ranch out west, that he learned that wilderness must be conserved.  He opened the first National parks.  He was a cool guy and would have fit right in on NJH.

The second pic here is a buck I shot last year on our farm. Just to let you know, I've seen 9 different bucks this year that are equal and bigger then him.

I don't care what name we go with. All I know is we have a good chance. This team is going to be darn good with tons of points!

Good luck to all my teamates. Lets get the points going!

I hunt zone 12 (mostly) with the bow, muzzleloader and shotgun.

Is there a thread that shows the rules for the contest?  I have a few questions and instead of asking them, I could just read and find em.

You guys don't have a chance against us. j/k Oh, and you don't hunt the same spot, if that were the case, I wouldn't shoot any deer either Just bustin man. Aftermath...I remember there being rules for the contest, just not sure where they are. If you can't find them, just make a post, I know I had seen them. Also, welcome to the team...we should be pretty good!

I found the thread...

http://www.newjerseyhunter.com/article14911.htm

It doesn't answer the main question I have though.  Do all the deer entered need to be taken in NJ?  I'm probably hunting three states this year... that's why I ask.
