Welcome to the site Ron!

What park is it?
I am planning on hunting public land for the first time this year myself...... Is there any sort of ettiquite for public land hunting? Obviously I am not going to go climbing into someone elses stand or putting mine 5 yards away from someone elses, but If I am in the tree and someone comes by, not seeing me how to I let him know move along?
I am mainly going to hunt there during the week to avoid other people, but you never know if anyone else takes 9-11 off every year |

| public land hunting is not a bad deal you realize that most bow hunters have the boundries marked so look for tape look at trees with stand marks and stay away old timers are not very happy with new guys come into there spots a simple wistle will do | ||

State Parks are a bit tricky. While the land may be posted as state park land, it does not mean that the area is open for hunting(even if there are no safety zone signs)
Allamuchy's entire back section by Waterloo road is closed to hunting, as is the entire middle section of Kittatiny SP. You should check with the individual park offices and ask for a "hunting map" that outlines the areas open to hunting, closed to hunting, and the safety zones. Each park should have one available on an 8X11 sheet of paper you can take with you. Not sure what park's are in zone 5?? __________________ Support the N.J.O.A. and the "Littel Amendment" An amendment to the New Jersey State Constitution that Guarantees the right to hunt, trap, and fish in New JerseyNew Jersey Outdoor Alliance

Most State Parks DO NOT allow hunting, while most state Wildlife Mgt Areas and State Forests do. The Parks that allow hunting, typically have certain areas or special regulations that apply to hunting that particular Park or section of park. Without knowing what Park you are talking about, I suggest you stop by the Park Office and confirm. Good Luck with your season.. __________________ |

I doubt they ever saw that..Sounds like they are ANTIs just spreading thier typical Lies..I would hunt where ever you can legally hunt.. The Park has chosen that particular section of the park for a reason, to reduce the deer herd and limit the over grazing and damage to the native plants. By reducing the open hunting area, you are just making it more difficult for the Park to reach thier harvest goal.. __________________ |

Bayonne,
Most of those houses have been condemned by the State and added to the Park. The state is actually raising many of them. As for getting turn arround-dude I grew up in them there hills-I can find my way in the darkest night ![]() __________________ Support the N.J.O.A. and the "Littel Amendment" An amendment to the New Jersey State Constitution that Guarantees the right to hunt, trap, and fish in New JerseyNew Jersey Outdoor Alliance

Allamuchy's entire back section by Waterloo road is closed to hunting The Deer Park area of Allamuchy is only open to deer hunting the last I checked. That is you cannot small game hunt there. It used to be a zone in itself also. Get that Guide to Open Spaces map that the F&G puts out. It shows every WMA in the state and every SP and if it is open to hunting. __________________ Gun control is being able to hit your target

In the state map book it lists all SP's and individually shows the do's and don'ts. For Parvins it lists deer hunting. So I called the office and they said no way, there is no hunting on any of Parvins property.![]() __________________ ..
