there is a Dix track in south jersey, not fort dix. i didn't think fort was open to the public. not that i would drive to north jersey to hunt, but i thought it was off limits to nonactive military.

Yea its open to the public if you pay the fees. Not worth it though no big bucks there.

That american whitetail ltd makes us have some nice deer on fort dix. Keep on feeding them that good stuff.

there are alot of good bucks taken and we have gov signs seperating our property from theirs and it is dix they drive it like mad men during shotgun

More then likely your talking about the piece behind pemberton township police department. That is not fort dix that is county. That piece does get pushed big time. Im not saying that nobody drives on dix but its not big clubs that do and if they do 9 times out of 10 they get thrown off.

I put money on it that bigger deer get taken of off dix every year then whitetail ltd.

Every year somebody on dix kills a deer that scores over 150 inches. This year we had 3 that i saw taken off the property.
Posted:  02 Sep 2007 5:20 PM

I'd have to disagree. There are big bucks everywhere. They didn't get to be big by not being elusive. If you don't see them than you're not there at the right time. I've seen some of the deer that had been taken from Dix's and some are bigger than the deer I get in Salem.

The biggest all time rack on record for NJ was taken in 1947 by Norman Taylor it had 31 pts and net scored 216 5/8ths NT. The deer was taken in New Lisbon, Burlington County, which borders the US Army base at Fort Dix.He was hunting with the Earlin Gun Club of Browns Mills when he took it.

Yea my understanding was that some1 else shot the deer and he just tag it because the guy that really shot it didnt have a license. Thats what i heard any way. Im not saying thats true.
