NJ Hunter / New Jersey Hunting / Road Survey / Baby Snapping Turtles 8/28/07 (Pics)

Received a call today from a guy I know in town who said that he had found a bunch of baby snapping turtles. He knew that I have a couple as pets and thought I might know where to get rid of them. There ended up being 16 in all. Same thing happened a few years ago and he called me then as well. He has an inground pool and the mother always lays her eggs nearby. I ended up taking them and releasing them into a pond I know that I don't fish. Thought they were pretty neat looking and thought some of you might like to see them. Enjoy!

When I was a kid I had a couple of those in a 20 gallon tank.  When they were about 4 inches long I used to feed them mice.   It was lots of fun, but I eventually let them go in the swamp by my parents house.
