Had a good day at SawMill, got my first duck ever, but....
Basically I spent every spare cent this summer on gear, including a parka, neporene waders, etc. I was wet today, pretty much all day, and I cant figure out why. Maybe it was my fault, letting my shirt sleeve poke out from my parka cuff brought some moisture up my arm, but I hope the $$$ I spent on expensive "waterproof" stuff wasn't in vain. __________________ Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for the house in Blackjack.

In the last 1/2 hour I have heard about 20 shots and alot of geese flying over!!! The shots don't sound like they are coming from the WMA though.... They are coming from somewhere in the other direction... __________________ ............................................

Quote: I'm just telling you what I'm hearing!!!! Shots then a bunch of geese flying over the house...Then 3 or 4 more groups of shots!!! The shots are pretty far away from the sounds of it! Maybe the geese were just scared off by the shots at something else?!? Somebody is blasting away at something!!Jim, goose season is closed now. __________________ ............................................

Guys,
While being a reader for months, this is my first post. Sawmill Creek caught my eye. I had the opportunity several seasons back to field hunt geese. While my friend's job commitments prevent him from continuing, I have hunted for many years, and am eager to particpate in Waterfowling. Sorry to say, I"m not a young guy to join the sport, but an uplander who lives in the Meadowlands, but has neglected this opportunity. Candidly, I'm looking for an invitation and lesson/lessons on how/where/what to buy, etc. I know there is a Bergen Cty Waterfowler organization, but have been unable to find where they meet, or a contact. while I have a 12 gauge auto, I'm open to geting whatever I need. I now realize after watching a DU show, the resouce I have within my township and can expand on days afield. Look foward to hearing from someone. |

Welcome to the boards s1h1a1m1u1...
I'm not a water fowl hunter myself but I do know there is a great group of them here. I'm sure you will be able to get some good advise from these hunters. Good luck! ![]() __________________ ............................................
