I have never been swamped, i have always gotten a doe or two. and it seems a buck every other year. 3 years ago i got a 6 pointer, and last year an 8 pointer... __________________ Michael

I've hunted the SWAMP since 1990 and had excellent results up until about 2-3 years ago. Then, my luck/success ended. Last 2 years I haven't seen deer or been able to pull the trigger. Seen bucks, but no does.
Now, they are changing the rules slightly and setting one side of the swamp for muzzy only so that takes away my favorite hunting parcels. I have decided to forego the SWAMP this year and instead hunt bow straight thru to Thanksgiving. I will probably be kicking myself for not signing up for this year's hunt...we'll see! Good luck. If you get a doe, there should be decent bucks no matter where you go. |

Hunted there many years, the last time ... 5 seasons ago. I broke all 3 of my sons into deer hunting there, since everyone is so spread out by lot assingment.
I've always done well there ..... good for me, anyway. I go back to the protest days. In later years I switched to the wet areas in the northeast part of the Swamp, because I would sometimes see trophy deer in the big yards of those big houses adjacent to the rufuge over there. I never got one. |
