Posted:  01 Aug 2007 4:20 PM
Last night I went to harry's and I bought a new rest its a ripcord and at the store it worked great but when I went out to shoot today after the sixith shot the rest didn't drop away but when I pull on the cord it drops. Has anybody else ever experience the same problem I am having with there ripcord rest? What can I do to fix?

Thats why the Centerflipper will always be the best.

That is a shame, Everything always works good in the shop till you get home. Take that sucker right back and have them get it right.

OK I went out one last time to see what was happening and it was still doing the same thing, but than I pulled the end of the cord up a little bit and it works like there was nothing wrong!

The only reason I went to Harry's was because my dad who I haven't talked to for almost a year and a half wants to try starting a new relationship togeather by doing things that I do so I told him about the big sales that were going on and he brought me to Harry's to look around. I brought my bow in to see how many pounds I was pulling back. I gave him my bow for a second and the next thing I now he is getting suckered into buying me a new sight rest and arrows. I tried to get him to leave but he wouldn't in the end I had a new 4 pin apex lighted sight, a ripcord rest and a new set of arrows.

I agree,that's who I always see.

I had Harry's put a Ripcord on my bow, took almost an hour just to install it.Then I was charged an hour labor even tough I bought the rest there.

I was surpirsed with the service I got there even though I was going just to look, in the end my dad was buying things left and right and telling the guy to put it on. We didn't wait long and we were out of there within an hour and a half. We didn't get charged a labor fee and even though I had a small problem with the rest and now it is working I'm still going to bring it to the sportsman center when I go this week.

You probably just have to adjust the cord with your upward cable, no?

It probably just slipped up (or down), thus throwing off the timing when you are at full draw.

Your cord isnt tight enough or isnt tied in properly and is slipping on the string after a few shots. Niot enbough tension to release the rest.

Ive set a dozen of these up and have never once had this problem until I fixed someones screw up.

I just went to harrys today we worked on it for almost an hour before he gave up and said I should leave it with him so he can change the cable and the string and tune my bow up. He siad he had no idea what is causing the rest not to drop away. I should get my bow back by the end of next week.

go get your bow back, he wants to put new strings/cables on to make a few "$$$$$" if he knew anything about archery he would know why the rest isn't working

I've had a ripcord on my last two bows, including the one I have now and have never had any type of problem. I think they work really well, I'm sure yours can be adjusted rather easily to avoid any future problems.

well it wasn't my choice the money isn't coming out of my pocket. I was also told I only get back store credit not money. As of right now the string and cable was going to get replaced no matter what I'm only doing this to get by this season and bye a new bow next season. My dad put two hundred dollars into this bow because he would not listen thats one of the reasons we don't talk for long periods of time. Now my step dad is putting money into this bow so I can get by this season.

Deerman, do yourself a favor and have Rob at Targeteers or Matty from here set the bow up.

Stop dealing with guys that wanna change parts b/c their to incompetent to figure the real reason for the problem out.
