i found the airial view of my house.  it doesn't let you zoom in as good as other map software i've seen.  i think it was google earth that i could see my old jeep in the driveway.

still pretty good though.

What part of it? I find everything I need and more. The views are crisp and the seach is just like the web broswer and a built in yellow pages. Also I like the fact that some places have actual photos of your points of interest.

All of it. My neighbors had a pool put in last summer and it is not showing up on Google Earth yet... still just a grassy ole backyard.

I have found that mapquest has a closer view than Google and Yahoo maps.

There are maps available from The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference that show State Parks and Forests, Elevations, UTM coodinates, trails, etc. I bought a 2 map set from the Ringwood Manor F&W office and ordered a Sterling Forest Map on-line. They are very good.Info at:  www.nynjtc.org

My friend built a house about 5 yrs ago and google still shows it as an open field...A developement went in another old farm 4 yrs ago and it still shows the 280 acres as woodlots....

That data from the state is also available for download.

There are some free software you would need to install to view them (Look up Mr. Sid) and it will let you zoom in as close as you want.

Depending what county you are in depends on how good the photos are.  I belive the worst you will find in the state is 2ft resolution

I like www.clocations.com. You dont have to wait for the images to load when you move around.

Maybe some day they will get intricate enough so before you go out you can scan the bush to see whats in it and then you go right to the animal and shoot it?

I tried to find it out and I think it can be done. A guy showed me my truck sitting in his lot and said oh if someone wants to bomb you look how easy it is with this technology theres your truck. I went home and looked up some spots and tried to see deer on them but they just weren't that clear. I could see the buildings and the doors on them but no game. I did see cows on a farm though but again not that clear to really pin point.

Depending on what county you are in NJ has atleast 1 foot pixel resolution in true color.  That would be good enough to see people and I guess a deer if it was in an open field.  The real problem is two fold, one is they are not real time and the other is the deer will blend in with the ground.

NYC and some Urban cities have 6 inch pixels and you can clearly see people in them, but there are not too many deer running around Manhattan.

I have not been to a meeting where it was discussed in a while, but my guess is that they will be looking to get new orthophotography done within the next two years.  I know NY keeps on a 5 year program to keep them up to date.

One of the sights had different dates of the pictures. Interesting how things changed.
