Yeah but after 30 or so you get kinda sick of em. The rest get cut up to feed the dogs through the winter

I'm a goose jerky man myself. Especially the homegrown carp we shoot in the Sept. monthes, Yuck! I tried the first 2 breasts last fall and for some reason they were really tough(not my cooking either). So I froze all the rest I shot and ground them up for jerky after the season.

when I make a stew I cook it for 3-4 hours and it is very tender,I make huge pots of it at a time and it last a month or two

Try goose in bag with rosemary and some orange juice

You do get sick after you eat enough, remember those days. Goose salad, goose breasts, goose baked, goose jerky, smoked goose, goose sanwichs, goose patta.

That is funny! Remember when a flock of geese got some respect in this state?? I remember when they would fly over migrating you would stop and watch in awe of the site. Now they are everywhere crapping up the place. I have to admit I  still stop in the fall when the migrating geese fly over my house. Still a great site to watch.

I have to agree
I have fond memories of my dad, many times after a deer hunt, asking me "did you see that flock of geese fly over?". We both had the habit(i guess he instilled it in me)to count the geese in the flock. And then after he asked the question about seeing them we would compare #'s and never come up w/ the same #'s and laugh about it. Aahh the good ole' days.

Whats odd about what I mentioned above is none of my family members waterfowl hunted ever, and I just recently started. So what I'm saying is your right it must have been something 25 yrs ago to get a deer hunter to stop in his tracks and watch a flock even though they had no interest in hunting them.
Though he's passed I still count the flocks and sometimes we still compare the #'s.

Thanks guys.

I've tried Charlie's "catfish hunter" goose stew and it was really good. But, I like my vegetables cut up in little pieces, that's just my personal choice. Maybe I can get another bite if Lou invites us again to his club for the deer drive.

ATTENTION WATERFOWL HUNTERS: NEW, OPTIONAL REGULATIONS PERMITTED DURING SEPTEMBER CANADA GOOSE SEASON

At the recommendation of the Atlantic Flyway Council, the US Fish and Wildlife Service has
approved the use of special regulations to help curb the growth of Resident Population Canada
geese, beginning in 2007. The special regulations are optional. The following new regulations
apply:
1. Electronic calls are permitted.
2. Shotguns capable of holding no more than 7 shells (including magazine and chamber)are permitted.
3. Hunting hours: 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunset. Note that this allows
hunting 1/2 hour later than during previous years.
HUNTERS NEED TO REMEMBER THAT THESE SPECIAL REGULATIONS ONLY
APPLY TO THE SEPTEMBER CANADA GOOSE SEASON. In particular, hunters that
choose to use unplugged guns during the September Canada goose season are reminded to
reinstall magazine plugs before pursuing other game species.
During all other waterfowl seasons, including ducks, brant, regular and winter Canada goose, and
snow goose, "standard" regulations apply. "Standard" regulations include: electronic calls
prohibited, shotguns may not be capable of holding more than 3 shotshells, and hunting hours end
at sunset.

Man, This awesome. I can't wait to blast those pesky gritters.
