So now which slugs? It is a 20 gauge. Anyone shoot anything other than Lightfields?

Those are hard hitting slugs for sure. And flat shooting. Thinking about trying them in my encore 20 ga big$$$$ have kept me from trying it though. Been using the muzzy during the gun season. H&R slug gun is very accurate good choice markbrit

I shoot Buckhammers and get great groups. They do an awesome job on a deer as well.

I have to try them. The Buckhammers group nicely but they really plummet past 100 yards, and I hunt some fairly open areas at times.

I have the carbon copy of your gun. All I ever put through my 20 are Lighfields. Never had to track one yet. Last year I dropped a buck at 95 yards right through the heart.
Then again I hear all good stuff from the above mention slugs. I Just personally have never shot anything else.

Since I saw how well that H+R in 20ga. 2 3/4" performs I have no use for 12ga. but I would not consider a shot over 100 yards either.

Keep in mind that I veiw shooting deer with firarms in a differant light than most would too.

Thanks for the feedback. I have heard that all the premium slugs shoot well. Most of these slugs are $10-15 a box of 5.

Anybody shoot anything cheaper?

I use 3" in my 12, watch the scope, 'cause they kick like hell!!

I will only cycle 2 3/4" Lightfields in my H&R. It's a winning combination and truely my "work-horse".

Sal, you still want it?
