Criminals get easy access to any weapon they want and as many as they want and we get mountains of paperwork for one gun !What a hell of a state to live in ! I heard the new NJ flag will have a hammer and sickle on it !

Well said ,considering NJ residents have to apply for a permit to purchase a handgun each time and are basically pre-screened and that process sometimes takes over month in itself.
Im sure the crips and the bloods are losing sleep over this one !

Here's a great idea for a law: any politician who deprives a law abiding citizen a right to the means to defend themselves against a violent or criminal attack shall have to abide by the same rules, no exceptions !!! I call that one the "hypoctite law" !

Assemblywoman Joan Quigley, a sponsor of the legislation, represents Jersey City, which like other New Jersey cities has struggled against street gangs and gun violence.

"I personally can see no reason why anyone would want to go out and buy guns in multiples," she said.

Maybe because they live in Jersey City and have to protect themselves, their property and their family from street gangs.

Secondly, Quigs, you've been in the assembly for 13 years.  In those years Jersey City has gone from bad to worse while you stood by and watched.  Get the drugs off the streets and put gang members in jail.  That'll decrease violent crime.

Third, criminals laugh at you for proposing more emotion-based legislation.  They don't buy their guns from gun shops.

Lastly, it's not your place to decide whether I want to buy one gun or 30 guns a month.  Do I determine how many sports jackets you buy a month?  WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR ME AND MY FAMILY?

BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE TITLE OF ASSEMBLYMAN?

You don't have to see why.  You don't have to understand.  The Bill of Rights does that for me.

Let me put it to you bluntly assmeblywomen Quigley, I've looked at your record... reimbursement for hearing aids, prohibt performance enhancing drugs for high school athletes, telephone calling card BS...you're a real life saver.

People don't follow titles lady...they follow courage.  The courage to make real changes that effect peoples lives for the positive.

Withdraw this bill and publicly apoligize to the legal, hard-working gun owners of this state.

Plus, whenever we buy a handgun now .... its "registered" to us. A copy of each Permit To Purchase Hangun to returned to the police department after the gun's model and serial number is marked down by the gun shop. I'm sure that info goes right into a state database.

So, what do these idiot, do nothing legislators think we are going to do ..... sell handguns that are registered in our name on a street corner in Newark?

I'm so tired of stupid state.

The good guys get one handgun a month... while the bad guys get unlimited.

More feel good legislation that effects ONLY the law obiding.  NOBODY traffics guns that are legally purchased and NOBODY legally buys handguns in NJ to sell illegally now.  Stupid.

It takes me 4 months to get the permit, so what the hell is the difference??  What a waste of legislation! So if you can only buy 1 a month and permits last for 90 days, then I guess you can only apply for 3 permits now. Last time I got 6.
