Ok, so im pretty sure  i cant do this but id like some clarification from all you LEO's and FFLs out there.
Im 18 and now have an FID. my local FFL has stated that i can purchase a handgun in a private sale and process the paperwork and backround check at an FFL and not need a permit to purchase a handgun, which i cant get yet anyway because of my age.
Now from everything ive read on the internet this is similar to the gunshow loophole which HAS been plugged in NJ which is why theres no more gun shows here.  i think this FFL doesnt know what hes talking about, and i think i still need a permit to purchase a handgun in any scenerio, but if this guy is right, id like some confirmation from anyone on these forums.

and just to clarify, the private sale in question would be from an out of state seller, either in person or via gunbroker or the like
