depends on where you are and what is around you - but may be a great little spot - use the google maps satalite map view to see what is around your 5 acres

jrhunt email me if you want more info on that area, I used to hunt ecxactly where you are talking about for over 10 years. Used to be cool with the cops to bowhunt, but last year they told me no more. They are now going to inforce the no discharge ordinance even for bow and arrow. So be careful.

Stealthy , I sent you an E mail.    John

There is a ton of pressure too in the area. Especially with bow. Those small lots can be golden later in the year, but may have been to many complaints, so now the cops will enforce the area.

i live in monmouth couty i am going hunting this year for the first time ever can any one till me where is the good spot to go

Where ya at "rookie"? Assunpink can be good, but gets hard to hunt as the season goes on.
Allaire has some quality hunting and it's bow only. There are brusiers in there, but ya can't mind walking.

you can hunt in allaire?  Do you need a special permit?
Posted:  25 Sep 2005 8:10 PM
allaire was good way back when . i think since they put an end to the gun hunting the hunting might be getting better. its also known for tree stands being stolen so dont even think of leaving one locked up. it also has alot of ticks and chiggers early on in the season.i buddy of mine hunts assunpink and what he does is walk around stalking the deer with a 3-d leafy suit. he does well with that method. they plant corn and other food plots.

put in for my monmouth battle field hunt hope i get it i herd it s good

There's a section of Allaire that's been open since the late 70's. It got to be a circus there for awhile, but they finally stopped vehicle access and gun hunting. There are bucks in there that are second to none, but it's tough hunting, they're not stupid just because they live in a park.
As far as leaving portables, anyone that leaves one "anywhere"on public land, ain't too bright.

The state record bow Typical - Scott Borden- 192 was shot on property adjacent to Allaire park - the genes are there

Not to split hairs... but the borden buck is 189 1/2.

I measured a buck at Cabelas a couple of weeks ago for the mossy oak deer classic that came from Allaire
An 8 point netted just under 160 thats a great buck by anyone's standards.

I hunt Monmouth county also since i live there.
My brother has the good spot though
Posted:  25 Nov 2005 11:03 AM
hey sugar - you are correct - 189 4/8

boy - An 8 point that goes over 140 is a big 8 - over 160- WOW

They are down here - just to get lucky and have everything line up to kill them in that cl [no swearing please] -

If you have a shotgun permit - you can do the Manasquan deer-a-thon that striperhyper is putting together.

I was out scouting in Allaire yesterday (for next season) and got covered by ticks so be careful.  Also came across what I thought was a permanent built tree stand but upon close inspection it was a "portable" ladder stand built of heavy pressure treated wood.  When I say "portable" I means it was not nailed into the tree but it must weigh 150 lbs.  I would think it takes 4 grown men to carry it in and out
