Got up in one of my stands here on the farm late yesterday afternoon. Sat there no more than 10 minutes when I saw movement in front of me. And there he was, 30yds. in front of me, presenting a classic broadside shot. I new the yardage to be 30yds. , so I drew my Switchback and placed the 30yd. pin directly on his shoulder and let the arrow fly. It hit excactly where I aimed. A double lung shot.He thrashed a little , but then all was quiet. My Switchback had scored it's first kill. The Spitfire broadhead doing it's job. Total penetration of the animal and then 6 inches into the ground.
I probably screwed up the rest of my deer hunt by shooting this ground hog, but I couldn't resist it. Oh, and yes, this is one of my 30' + stands It's above the ladder.__________________ President-UXBNJ

ns911,
How did the spitfire survive the impact into the ground? I only use Stingers for ground hog shooting (lifetime replacement) and save my spitfires for deer, they are too expensive to hit rocks with. -dan __________________ PLEASE DO NOT HUNT QUEBEC! He was a buck, this years ( button ? ). Weight about a pound and a quarter. I usually eat what I shoot, but I draw the line at chucks and clay pigeons.
The Spitfire broadhead survived ok. He was on top of the soft dirt in front of his hole. I'll just replace the blades and use it again. They must be stocking up on their fat, cause I shot 4 more ( chucks ) today. I took the easy route and used my .223 rifle ![]() __________________ President-UXBNJ
