Everyone should get an old hunting license and stuff it in an envelope with a note that says :"I hunt and I vote"!, and mail it to thier legislator who is up for re-election. When they have a mountain of them piled up in thier office ,I think they'll have to acknowledge that fact that hunter's exist and wont be able to ignore us any more. It worked for the NRA when they sent us ready to mail post cards to send to people . After they got bombbarded with them, they started to notice us.

NJ Constitutional Amendment to define hunting and fishing as a right for all legal citizens.

This proposed Amendment will simply protect regulated hunting and fishing for future generations by recognizing them as protected rights and defining them as preferred methods for managing non-threatened wildlife.
Will never happen with the political climate in NJ.

Look into "No net loss" laws in other states.  If hunters lose ground some where the state needs to open up the same amount of ground some where else basically.  There are QUITE a few states that all ready have this law, oh yeah...most of these states have Sunday hunting too.

No Net Loss

You can bet that the NJSFSC will get behind that, unlike Sunday Bowhunting.

These politicians in this state out-criminal the criminals, so if there is nothing in it for them ,then you are screwed. But I firmly believe you still gotta fight for what you believe in and nothing beats a failure but a try!!!!

Some good ideas, I'll help if I can.  you should find out if any other states have such and maybe go from there.

Bacs... I know you did a lot of work on these... but I am done putting my efforts into Sunday Bowhunting as well as reducing the 150 yard rule for bowhunters.

Although I support both... there are bigger battles that need to be fought like the bear nonsense... restructing the F&W Council with Antis... and undermining the the authority of the F&W Council.

I understand that too, and you know that my knowledge and skill with these things are always at your disposal.

I will say this; the "No Net Loss" could be very handy if Corizine does TRY to sell any WMAs.

I think this has already been said but I'll say it here. Fish and wildelife needs to be independent of the DEP. That way it will be less effected by the politics that mess it all up now. Also with the requierment that it base all it's management on sound Biological data pertaining to the spiece in question. And that all members of said council have the necicery education to sit said council. ect, ect, ect. But as of now the DEP is what's screwing around with the bear hunt. F&W needs to be seperated from that mess.

Here is the issue I would like to see, but never expect to:

Any land bought with public funds should be open for hunting and fishing.

If Green Acres buys 117 acres in Evesham, there is no way any person who pays taxes should be barred from recreating there.  If a State restored beach completely enclosed by public property has to have access to the public, how can State preserved land be essentially off-limits?

F&W (and the Council by proxy) needs to independent of the NJSFSC....

I still have an idea.  If anyone is interested... please email me.  I rather not post (for now) to keep the Antis in the dark... then take them by surprise/storm.
