Dawnpatrol - How much was the smoker in the 1st pic and what brand is it? I just got a cheapo model (Luhr Jensen) from Cabelas and I'm not very satisfied with the performance in cold weather. __________________ Dog's on point... get ready!!!

what do u have a little/big chief? I have the little chief with the insulation blanket. Maybe I just need to practice my technique. With the chief it's kinda difficult to regulate the temperature, so you have to adjust your smoking time to ensure a quality finished product. __________________ Dog's on point... get ready!!!

How did you make that smoker? its pretty easy...i just got some ideas from different websites on homemade smokers and used the shell of a freezer...i wanted to go with propane for my heat source because i didnt wanna babysit wood all day..you could also use an electric element...you would need a 240volt element to heat a smoker this size...there are tons of things you could do...build a permanent smokehouse out of lumber and line the inside with pine sheets and throw a turkey fryer on the bottom and a chip pan on top of thae burner for smoke..endless ideas...do a google search and see for yourself |
