Nice spot and thanks for the photos.  I have seen deer carry their antlers into the first week of April.  Yet, I have shot dink shedders in late December.  I have read that the big old bucks deplete their testosterone, by breeding, and lose their antlers first.  But last year I saw a residential 150" on St. Patricks Day.  When I saw him again on the 24 th of March he had shed.  There is just no telling.  The only thing that I know for sure is that antlers fall of when they are good and ready...and not a moment sooner.

Yesterday while on stand I saw several small bucks like that still holding on to antlers in the afternoon had what had been a small 8 point (80-90"er) come in with one on one off followed by a shed head later the buck I had been waiting for came in  and he had shed he was about 120" when I had seen him before and pushed him past our "YouthDay hunter" a guest saw him with both sides Friday night so he had shed sometime Sat. and I broke my butt today looking for those sheds but no dice. Also went shed hunting Sat. in the morning in DMZ12 and jumped a small 8 with both sides I have yet to pick up a shed after walking for a total of 8 hours this week end and veiwing a min. of 50 deer beds in the snow.

No pictures but last night I had a small 8 in the front yard.  They are still hanging on.
