Sure they will.  Crossbows are not any faster than modern compounds.

The way I understood the rules...it was legal for those who are disabled.

Now I'll have to read the rules to see if they changed. This may put another damper on my shot to get out.

I applied for the the disabled permit. I have 90% loss of mobililty of my wrist due to a fall 6 years ago. There is talk though of having a crossbow season for NJ in the future by 2009 i think I might be wrong though on the dates.

Well, first sorry to hear about your wrist. As far as the 2009 season goes I hope they don't push back a crossbow season to far in the later months. My arse wouldn't be able to take the cold.

BTW, I thought scopes were not legal on crossbows. I'm shooting with a Trophy Ridge pin site.

First of all they are very few that shoot that fast or even close to what they are rated. The difference is that they are  so loud that yes the deer can & will sometimes jump the string. I have all the sound deading equip. on my & it is still loud as anything. Hunting wise it is hard to get use to the fact that you have to look to make sure your limbs will clear everything before you pull the trigger.

There are a couple that get real close.  Many can shoot over 300.

The speed of sound is ~1100fps.  Unless you are shooting close to that the deer can easily jump the string.  Especially with how loud a crossbow is compared to a modern compound.

That would be fine with me. I live right in EHT so I'm willing. My only hang up is I don't want to be a burden to you though.
I've been talking to Sal too so it would be neat to meet you both.
My email is SCIQuad96@aol.com
Please let me know when you have the time.

Yeah Nice I can't wait to get a cross bow. Keep shooting it and tell us how accurate it is at 30-40 yds...

They are deadly at 30-40 that range , and seem to go out to about 50-55 with kill power, problem seems the noise the farther you go out.

Dave you're right on the noise factor I feel at 35 yards (for me anyway) is max for me. Because the bolts hits the target with little delay in sound.

Meaning the deer won't stiffen up causing a shot to go high over the back.
