Decided to take the muzzy out for a walk yesterday afternoon.  My wife was off and I asked her to go and to my suprise she says yes.  Well we got to the property I hunt around 1230.  She was just going to walk with me.  We are walking around the edge of a swamp and I say to her, "why don't you head into the pines here and into the swamp a little.  I normally chase deer out of there.  I'll be up a little further."  Well 2 minutes go by and I hear the all to familiar sound of something big busting through the brush.  I look up and see 2 tails.  Then a nice buck runs out, and then another, then a doe, and another buck.  I out the muzzy up, cross hairs on the vitals, click the safety off, but forgot I needed to pull the hammer back.  By time I realized, he had turned and all I saw was his tail and the back of his head.  My wife comes out and sayd did you see anything.  I told her yes and told her what happened.  Her response, "Dumb ass."
We continued to the end of the swamp and into the woods.  She says, "I hear something."  We head to a a ledge to see into the briar covered woods.  We were only there for 1 minute and I hear crashing through the ice at the edge of a pond.  Here come 6 more deer.  Too far for a clear shot.  My wife says, "Do you want me to head them off and try to push them to you?"  So off she went, but they deer never came back.
We continued to walk around the swamp and I walked passed a bedded doe.  I take a step and put the muzzy up.  Then up goes the doe.  All I hear is "S@#%" from my wife.
After a few more hours of checking different hot stops and no deer we decided to hit the swamp again before we left.  We did the same thing as earlier in the day.  This time I was ready.  However, the dozen or so deer she kicked up ran to the other end of the swamp.  Such is hunting.
I wanted to go out today, but was awoken this morning with so major back pain.  Oh well.
My wife didn't do bad for her first deer hunt.  She was upset I didn't get a deer.  Here she is.  She insisted on wearing an orange vest, even though I was the only one hunting.

the wife did good for you mike.  maybe one day she'll want to carry the muzzy and you'll have to push for her.  she'll probably get the deer too.

1) She was upset you didn't get the first deer, cause she was cold and just wanted to go home

In the end, it's the "HUNTER" that gets the deer not the BOW !
The bowman, to be successful as a hunter, must learn to perfection the habits of his game.
NO MATTER WHAT TYPE OF BOW HE USES !

To me Mike, that was a succesful day, Spending special time with your wife under those conditions, Its just "WONDERFUL"  being able to share those special moments together.

Next year she'll have to get her license so she can join you more often. I bet she would of pulled the HAMMER back !!!!!!
