What do I need to carry it.... a carry permit?
Posted:  31 Jan 2007 9:37 PM
Yup and good luck getting one in this state!!

If you want to make it simple ,drive over to Dick's in new castle or christianna Delaware[literally 5 min.over the bridge]walk up to the shelf ,pick one up and walk right up to the register and pay and leave and be on your way.Just don't get in trouble with it in this socialist state because the'll treat it like any other handgun incident[You are even supposed to register it like a handgun in NJ] and will royaly break your balls.

No need to "register" a handgun.  If you are ever asked you bought it while living in another state.

Welcome to "NEW JERMANY" 10 Minutes away to the east in Philly I can  legally carry concealed  and the residents there can walk in their local shop with nothing more than a drivers license and walk out with a handgun in 15 minutes[provided they pass the background check.Same goes with our neighbors to the south[Del] .Here, they break your balls over a freaken BB gun!!! THIS STATE SUCKS BIG TIME !!!

Perfectly legal to transport a handgun across state lines.  I do it all the time.

Very true.  You cannot legally accept delivery of a firearm in NJ unless it goes through an FFL.  Since you would be accepting it from a UPS driver that would be illegal.

However, you could go to PA and purchase a BB Gun or muzzleloader legally and bring it back.

you just need to have the handgun in a locked area of the vehicle and the ammo has to be seperate correct?

I do it everyday[unloaded and locked in the trunk]until I arrive in PA ,upon which time I load up and conceal it on me and go about my business legally. There is a federal "peacable journey" law which allows for this type of thing. In the rare event I may get pulled over in NJ they arent getting in my trunk anyway w/out a warrant because I have the balls to stand up for my rights and tell them that I dont consent to any searches.

If you legally purchased a handgun in another state there is no need for a permit in NJ.

No - a permit to purchase - different from carry permit.

I know how confusing the gun laws in the Republic of NJ are. Yes, we are border line Communist.

What really gets me is, how miss-informed a lot of "US' are about our rights as United States Citizens. I don't want to start an argument here, but maybe just a way in educating anyone and everyone that handles firearms in NJ. The best source that I know to answer must of all the questions is to either buy "Napen II" or go to his web site "evannappen.com"

Above all remember that if you are a law-abiding citizen, and you are not using a weapon for a criminal act. You are 100% protected by our Second Amendment.

Example:

I live in another state and have complied by that state's laws and purchased a firearm.  I visit a friend in NJ and want to participate in a shooting event at his club.

What is the "proper paperwork" for me to transport and shoot at this event?
