As you can see in this poor video in the start of the video you can see how close I get. As I moved upwind the deer got up and moved. I tried. I tried. I think if I pulled it of it would have made a nice video. The deer was a red color doe very big to. I was using my Bow not a Gun... Next time maybe my luck will be better. Dale  http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual& ...    Man I Tried let me tell you.  This happened today Jan 30th.

BankoBuck, that thing isn't even watchable. You see the deer the first couple seconds, after that its trees ground, snow, ground, branches, etc.

Laugh, I tried. I had my little 5 year old with me. I was having fun with him. I am sry about the camera shot. I am teaching how to enjoy life, hunt.  I thought it was fun to get that close to a mature doe with a 5 year old on foot on ground, he was jumping around as you can hear in the video from being excited. I hope to god I get one today. Me and him walked around for 4 hours stalking. I did not get the doe but I got to feel this hunt, stalk with my little guy. He was so happy to get so close. Let me tell you its very hard to sneak up on a deer with a little guy on toe, we tried. I hope he learned from this and I am teaching him to hunt and fish and to enjoy life.  Maybe we will get the full hunt in today. I will teach him how to film better, laugh. Me and him walked out with a big smile yesterday and I felt something I never felt before as a father... Thanks All

Nice try with little brother under foot. Next time put a pair of socks over his boots, just make sure he doesn't trip over them.

Right that should work. I going to buy him his own bear feet. Here is a picture of him with my our doe from bow season. <a href="http://img201.imageshack.us/my.php?image=00004877zl3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/5496/00004877zl3.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a>

That is a nice picture.  It is good to see that your boy likes the outdoors.  He looks very happy in that picture.  Cute Kid.

Only deer I ever stalked up on within shooting range actually stalked up on me.  It was raining out and blowing a little.  I walked into the wind and followed the easiest path (presumably just like a deer would).  Sure enough there he was walking right at me some 75+ yards away head down then up then down just all lazy and what not.  I laid down in some rocks so he could approach without seeing me.  Lots of fun that was, but I could never get close like that again.  Leaves make noise. Branches break.  Wind twirls around.  Snow crunches.  Saw lots of tails and lots of nothing many times

No way you were going to get close doing all that talking, though =P  Good try, though!  Keep it up! (be the tree!)
