I used this guy twice and my friend Frankie used him once. NEVER AGAIN!!!
It seemed that this guy was straight up when I got my Venison Bratwurst and Deerjims made up the first time I used him. So, a few weeks later I dropped off 20 lbs. of fresh, specially self trimmed, venison to get some Venison Cheese Dogs and Jalapeno Cheddar dogs made. Frankie dropped off an entire deer and had various things made with it, including hotdogs. When we went to pick up the meat a few weeks later, all of the hotdogs were packaged with a date of Nov. 25, 2006. Our deer were dropped off in December!!!! Turns out the guy doesn't give you your own meat back and never disclosed this when originally asked about this subject!!!! ![]() ![]()
Who knows what care was taken with this venison that the hotdogs were made of from the time it was field dressed to the time this guy got it?!?!?!?!?!?!? The quality of the products was "just OK". Also, Frankie's deer was approx. 120 lbs. He got back barely 30 lbs. of meat. Something is wrongwith this picture as I've butchered many deer in my time (boneless and trimmed), and a deer that size yielded quite a bit more meat. I recommend that if you want your own venison back, go elsewhere!!! He's located on Tollgate Rd., Pt. Pleasant, PA. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

And i know I am getting my deer.. __________________ "Fat, Drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life son."

I think it is quite common to not get your meat back. I have noticed that myself. No matter what the size of the deer I always get back the same amount from some guys. I used to go to Jim Young in Blairstown alot. He makes great hotsticks and the place is clean but you get back the same amount everytime. And it seems like alot less than when I go to other places. Wayne Tinc in Flanders always does a nice job. Alpine in Blairstown does nice to but pricey. __________________ "from my cold dead hands"

| There are places that will guarantee you get your own meat back. For ground meat, then generally mix it all together, but that is the exception. | ||

Wenners is the only place I ever went that packaged hair with the meat. I went that one time, got ripped for meat and got hair to boot.
Just down the road is a much better operation who gives you all your own meat back, ground and all. You have to skin and quarter, and he just charges for the stuff you get made. There is a nice set up to skin right there. He will do a straight cut, but I don't know what he gets for it. http://www.myplacesmokedmeats.com/ __________________ I hunt legally, carefully and ethically. What Tom is telling you about my place is correct. I've taken a few deer to Wenner this past bow season and had no troubles. I've used Glenn ay my place for a few last years and was more than happy. I hadn't used wenner for a couple years so I tried him again this year and had no problems.I used Ely for a number of years and switched up this year. ???? So there you have it as one mans gets boned and another get honned.

Elys gives you own meet back and Dwight is one of the best with a price that's a little higher above most but the product is at its top and well worth it.

Since in South Jersey I haven't used him for about 4-5 yrs. But remember a really hot little blonde always working behind the counter. |
