| I hunted Weldon Brook last Friday and Monday. I could only find 2 sets of fresh tracks in 10 hrs of scouting. Did see 2 does finally but unable to get a shot - they went the other way of course. Watched them feeding for 15 minutes. Just wondering if anyone is seeing any buck movement or if any else hunts this WMA. Looking for a new strategy. Only been in NJ for 3 years and see looking for the 1st buck. Let plenty of small inmature 6 and 8 pointers walk last year. But something has changed this year. They are not using the same trails, not even in the same area - nothing there. Is any of the WMA any better in Zone 6? | ||

| Went outside to smoke a cig - 2 does standing in the neighbors yard eating the lawn. The moon guide said 3 to 5 today. Unfortunate that most of the neighbors have not come around yet to allowing me to use a bow. only 1 has said yes so far. I have a herd of 15 to 18 does on my street but just as many anti-hunters as well. | ||

Randy,
I'm 99% certain that Im scouting the same woods as you. I'm tagged out in zone 6 with the bow, but I have been scouting that Blue Heron/Weldon Brook property quite a bit over the past couple months. I'm glad to hear you're passing the younger 6's and 8's in there, those woods hold a few good mature bucks. I dont like talking too much about spots on here though, so if you want to email me, we can talk about where we've been scouting, hunting, seeing deer/deer sign. Maybe even meet up to scout, or bowhunt next year. Matty@newjerseyhunter.com __________________ "Only in dictionaries does SUCCESS come before WORK." -Alfred K. Henderson
