Finally with a decent shot of i put the bow down and picked up my faithful 20 for an afternoon duck hunt. I got out where i wanted to be and set everything right and as i'm taking the gun out of the case had a pair of mallards fluttering over the decoys. Oh well there would be more. I ended up with 3 mallards, a widgeon and a pair of geese. This was nothing compared to what i saw. I saw where all the ducks were going and went in there right after shooting and jumped up over 120 blackducks, mallards, widgeon and gadwalls. I know where i'll be tomorrow. Hopefully with this beautiful weather i'll limit out tomorrow. Can't complain to much about that haul. I have seen lots of birds rafted up today in the spots that were open. I'm hoping this action lasts till Sat when I can get out. Good luck tomorrow!

Saturday should be awesome flurries on friday, saturday highs in the mid 30's and windy. The ponds will be frozen, all the closed little areas where you can't hunt will be frozen and will have been for the last couple days, saturday sounds like a phenomenal day, get your duck gear ready cause they're going to be fallin. I have an idea for Saturday that may work for my limited boatability (pirogue) but I'd really like to get real coastal. Oh well, next year when I'm finished my DH boat. I'll just have to stay out of any big water and stay within my limits...in other words smack the dog with the paddle if he stands up in the boat.
