Man, this thing was a hog. I had no way to compare it, in the photo's.
As the other post said, it was 200+, it didn't appear to have been sexually molested.
I hope GSpotter, has live pics of this pig.
How's the old cliche go, "it is better to give your head, etc, etc."

Is there a secret recipe to make the antlers taste good?

Will the guy bake them, or broil them?

Oh, I forgot Poached Antlers.

Do people need antlers that bad that have to cut off the head to a road kill?  I wondered this everytime I see antlers removed from roadkills.

I bet he was living in the development, just about 150yds, that runs off Sharon Rd., east of where, he lost his head and he actually wasn't that far from the tip of Assunpink.

I don't know how anyone could be proud of taking antlers off a roadkill deer and stick them on another deer.  Maybe they'll make a European mount.  I suppose someone could be that shallow to hang it on their wall and brag about it as if they had accomplished something.

Anyone on here ever done that?

Anyone want to reveal the underground taxidermists that do that work?  Maybe the poachers are doing the work themselves.

There's a buck in velvet mount in the Southern office with a framed story of the poacher who was caught killing over 200 deer.  Fined $80,000 for it.  He did nice work if he was the one mounting the animal.

I have a set from a buck I was hunting. On my way to work, right in front of me, an off duty cop nailed it, made me instantly sick when I saw it headed for the road from the field. I asked him how he didn't see it coming and he said he just didn't.

I took those horns because I hunted him hard for two years and then watch him get taken out by a pick-up.

Still makes me sick.

Wasn't it discussed in a posting a while back that you can not take heads/antlers from a roadkill deer without some sort of permit from the local town PD where it was killed

I tagged it. Season was over for me.

I hate this, if you collect antlers or are a taxidermist looking to mount stuff for your store display I could see taking the rack, but leaving a headless deer on the side of the road makes us all look bad. I hear about it everytime non hunters see one. family, freinds, coworkers.

Headlopping is pure stupidity, go buy yourself a set of fakes. What a desparate loser to bring home a roadkill head. What value does it have?

I can understand that a little bit, though it's something I wouldn't do.

I know someone will write, "What if it was a state record?"  "You know you'd take it and hang it on your wall"  Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Yeah, and the guy that stands on the sideline should never be awarded the MVP.  But if you find the trophy in the parking lot, I guess you can claim it as your own.

As long as you don't claim that you shot it....  Also, get rid of whole deer so antis and undecideds don't have to look at the headless carcass.

I still can't believe the "head theif" just took the head, and left all that good meat.  is that illegal to antler poach road kill?

I tell everyone the way the story went. All I have to show for two years of hard hunting is a set of horns that I feel I failed at harvesting. I'm not proud of them but its what I have to remember those hunts.

I butchered that deer also save what was good of course.

I can't understand the mentality of some "hunters".

Responsible, ethical hunters don't leave any evidence behind to show they were there. Unfortunately this is what is left behind for the rest of the world to see, and THIS is their image of the hunting community.

This buck was hit by a car.  Its not like a hunter shot it and only took its horns.  What are you guys crying about?

We know that, but does the public?

the only reason I would cut antlers would be to use them for rattling. Thats it!
