I agree with you too Chris. Its just the dead deer with the head chopped off in full view. I actually think its better to cut just the horns out at least it doesn't freak people out that much.

I guess non of these guys will ever buy one of those rack lamps or ducks on the base for their den???? It is the same just no headless deer on the side of the road.

Your gonna drive by a 140...150...160 cl [no swearing please] buck and leave it on the road?  F*ck no your not...

i wouldn't cut the head off a road kill. I would stop to take a photo of it. Im surely not gonna keep a rotting deer head in my garage for me and my friends to drink around.

Words are being twisted Lou

My whole point was that I would not leave the buck laying there.  I didnt think it was important to note the exact details of what I would have done.

I would have cut the head off because its the easiest things to do (i dont have a saw in my truck).  And then once I got home I would cut the horns off...just like any other buck.  This thread is getting stupid...

Reading back through the thread it doesn't say where the deer was found. It doesn't say it was in public view.

Don't forget shed hunting is illegal in this state also.

you cut the head cause it only takes a minute or less to do it,,when u get home u cut the antlers off and chuck the rest or send it to STU

Read it wrong. Had to go back and make sure. But still wouldn't cut it off. Earlier this year I saw a roadkill buck on a busy road north of princeton. I went back at lunch to get a second look and someone hacked the antlers off already. It just not something I do.

ChrisM, I enjoyed debating this topic with you, but my dinner is getting cold.  Like I wrote earlier, you go your way and I'll go mine.
