My son and I were out trailing a deer he said was bigger that his 144 score buck, we had bubbling (lung)blood and after about two hours we decided to stop till today. He just called and he jumped the buck at 10 yards, he is still on the trail with lots of blood. I will post the results as they happen. The shot he said was quartering toward him and I think he just nicked the lung, or this deer is quite large. He keeps saying it is huge. I wish him luck.

If he keeps bumping this buck, he may never find it.  I'd suggest that he back off for a few hours, let the buck bed down, and he'll find him.

Good luck... and then post the pics.

He (my son) is standing in a puddle about two foot square. We let the buck stay overnight. From all the blood he has lost he shouldn't be far.

He said that the deer was quarting towards him. Assuming he hit the back part of the lung, he had to get the liver, diaphragm, or guts, too.  The fact that he is still bleeding after all this time signals that it is not a muscle'superficial wound.

RGS,
What color was the blood that he found TODAY?

That is odd that he's still bleeding from his lung(assuming).  They usually clot pretty quickly.  Did he say where in the body he hit him?  How severe was the angle, how much penetration?

Lost blood when it crossed another street, he is going back tomorrow again. He jumped it at ten yards and took camera pictures of the blood it left, I can't believe it is still going. He is going to let him lay overnight again. He knows the area well, sure hope he finds it.

Not finding a good deer hurts.
Sure hope he retrieves him, best of luck.

Should he keep pushing him and he starts heading say northwest, give us heads up so we can get ready out here in Hunterdon.

doesnt sound too good given the time lapse and continued bleeding.  Hopefully the deer gets recovered or can heal from the wound for another day.  Good luck.
