I brought Rugman with me today to show him my set-up.  I had 232 pics in two days then the battery died.  I now have a rechargeable battery with a solar charger ( if the sun ever comes out).   The next group of pics will have a second feeder in them because I put out a bucket feeder.

Check out the weird bird!

My son and I went thru the pictures several times and counted 16 differant bucks.  The smallest was a three and the largest was a 10.  I know there are bigger bucks because I jumped them last week walking in.  Maybe in the next round of pictures.  All of the bucks are still in velvet.  Some of the does look like they are losing their summer coat.
I’ll go back in on Wednesday.

How many pics are you getting.  I get about 550 with the Moutrie 200 (6 volt) and then dead battery.  I'm going thru a battery a week.  Yesterday I put in a rechargeable battery and a solar charger.  Hopefuuly I'll be saving some $$$ now.

My anaylsis:

MarkMartin is getting acceptable photo counts based on what he is using: non-rechargable 6 volt... and a flash digital trail cam.

He should get better battery life with rechargables.

jrhunt is getting higher photo counts because his trail cam does not have a flash, right?  Rather it has infrared.

Drag:

I'm hoping you are correct.  The area that the camera is in has a heavy canopy of trees and the flash is going off in the daytime on a lot of the photos.  I'm sure that isn't helping my picture count.

The Cuddeback is the Non Typical Model I bought last year. It does use a flash.
