How did everybody do this year with the divers the broadbills were in pretty thick this year hopefully next year will be like this year i had some of my best shooting in years in the bay.

I haven't had much time to hunt pretty much anything do to work, but I had my fair share of success hunting the bay area in from Lawrence Harbor south to Keyport. Always seemed to be better late in the season for divers and even puddle ducks closer to the shore line.

I usally hunt on the cliffwood side or i just layout in my sneakbox.
This year the ice held off till after the season was over i remember last year the bay was iced up early.

I always watch for the winter conditions north of us. I hunt all the marshes from Trenton south to Cape May and back up north to Altantic City. A variety of birds. And the better duck seasons have always came when the winters are early and cold. You know , the last week of the season and the creek is froze over. Then I move over to Sea Isle and hunt bufflehead, brant, mallards, and blacks. I have found some state land that holds some good numbers of canada geese and mallards. I'll tell you these hidden ponds are magnets late. I've found them 7 years ago. No waterfowl pressure at all. A few bone hunters that's it.

A few years back, I read an article about banded bird facts. There was a canada goose killed out west that was banded 18 years before it was killed. Also, a group of hunters from Texas shot a snow goose on 1 day and another on a different day and there number sequence was in order. Ex: 2334 & 2335. Pretty cool.
In the 80's I shot a cinnamon teal in Mannington Meadow that was banded in British Columbia. My step-son shot a mallard that was a club bird in Maryland. The band was 2 years old.

Hopefully the broadies come in like they did last year.
The only thing that sucks is putting out all those blocks for just two broadies.
I still love it though

Lifehog they already did, friday morning they were in the cove behind jak-a-bobs in U B.

Its hard to believe the limit is Two when you see so many. I can't hunt them in the bay my jon is to small. Next year it will be different
