For some reason it does not show up on Google as a WMA or anything - I scrolled to the spot but Google did not have anything listed there. You can download the map from the NJ Dept of fish and wildlife site, but they are not very good. Google sux!

It isn't easy.  The online WMA maps have roads on them, but poorly or unnamed.  You just have to try and find the roads or road patterns on the Google or Mapquest aerial.  Sometimes a close body of water or stream can help.  Good luck

This is what I suggested on the WMA survey. Some detailed maps, like a Hagstrom with the areas highlighted.

find an address you know, then follow the roads you drive to get you where you want to go. Then zoom in.

Google Earth isn't going to list the WMAs for ya. Like jerseyhunter said, find an address you know, then follow it on the map.

You gotta know the area.

Go to the DEP's web site and pull up the New Jersey I-map feature. You can zoome in an ariel phots of the entire state from 2002, and there is a "state owned land" plug in that will highlight the state owned land in green over the photos. They also have the same arial photos from 1930. So if you were wondering about strange features in your hunting land-look at the 1930's phots and see what it was.

I created a website just for this.  It has New Jersey WMAs and other lands in a format that works with Google Earth.

http://www.freemapsource.com

Let me know if you need a map that isn't there (in NJ or not, let me know either way).

point and  double click, keep clicking and pointing till you get there. Enough practice and you can find your house, try birds eye for real close. Works over seas also.
